No, I don’t believe he did get an annulment…but you bring up a good point.

Maybe the media should ask Bishop Hubbard whether Cuomo is a Catholic in good standing.
He would only be semi-domiciled in Albany. Isn’t his home of record Queens?

Obviously I didn’t mean “we” as you and I, I meant “the Church”. But I suspect you knew that.
Stick around long enough and you’ll hear all kinds of disingenuous comments.

This fallacious reasoning keeps coming up again and again and again. .
 Again, what reasoning are you referring to. I **never **said this was all the same thing. Of course there is a a difference between sinning and promoting sinning. Duh. I said these things are against the faith, that is, they are sinful.

One cannot said to be using fallacious reasoning when no argument is being reasoned.

I can only respond to what you write. In this case, the “we” is Cardinal Dolan. The Church does not operate by mob nor is it a democracy especially in the area of pastoral prudence. Therefore, “we” in this case is not really very appropriate.

I am glad to see Cardinal Dolan speaking out.

However, don’t you just love how the New York Daily News used an image of Cardinal Dolan which makes him look like an aggressive bully? [sarcasm off] I doubt that it was a simple mistake in choosing such an image of him.
I noticed this as well. Such is the world we live in. No servant is better than the master.

Is Cuomo a “catholic”? Only a “catholic” (as in C.I.N.O) would support abortion. I think he should be publicly excommunicated and denied the Eucharist. Its time for Bishops to PROTECT the Eucharist and not let HIM be treated this way - received by Pro Abortion politicians that is.

this obsession with expanding abortion will only come back and slap the country in the face when we are in deeper debt in 20 years with NO WORKERS to pay for social security because they were ALL eliminated through abortion.
YES!👍

Actually, no, since Cardinal Dolan is not the only Cardinal/bishop using the “pastoral approach” wrt pro-abortion politicians receiving our Lord in the Eucharist.

So, yeah, “we” as in “the Church” was appropriate to use.

Not sure. I just know that most of the news questioning Cuomo receiving communion over the years has been news out of Albany and related to Bishop Hubbard.

Of course, it’s been the same response in both dioceses, so it probably doesn’t matter.

At least Gov. Cuomo is speaking against Anthony Weiner’s bid for mayorship of NYC. At least.

Well not only does he support abortion and gay marriage he is living with his girlfriend without benefit of marriage.
Really? I did not know this, I did read the wkipedia article on Gov. Andrew Cuomo, seems he got divorced from a Kennedy if I remember that correctly.

Though we can judge actions but not the state of someone’s soul, this would, from the outside looking in, certainly seem to meet the definition of “manifest grave sin”. Perhaps Cardinal Dolan is aware of some mitigating circumstances, but barring that, I fail to see how this man should be allowed to receive our Blessed Lord in the Eucharist.

Bad example is grave enough, especially for a high-profile individual. Just sayin.
