Hmmm… I think you have my posts confused with someone else’s posts. I haven’t misused scripture at all. /QUOTE]
We should stand up for our faith and oppose those who wish to harm us, …In many cases I think it means turning the other cheek, as our Lord taught us to do, and get on with our business, treating everyone fairly and kindly.

I think this thread has about run its course as far as I’m concerned, so you may direct your posts to someone else. Thank you for your thoughts on the matter.
Thank you for giving up and acknowledging that I was correct. That is what you meant to do? Surely, you weren’t trying to sneak in the last word while trying to appear magnanimous.

Oops, I guess you won’t be answering.

I’m not comparing homosexuals to heterosexuals. I’m saying that it seems funny to think of homosexuals as “terrorists,” as some posters seem to be doing, when in fact, homosexuals have more often been the victims of hatred and terror at the hands of heterosexuals. I’m familiar with anti Catholic bigotry in Mexico, the U.S. and other places and in no way condone it, but neither do I condone bigotry against anyone else either, including homosexuals. This is not to say that I approve of homosexuality or disagree with the Church’s position on homosexuality. I don’t. I certainly disagree with bigotry, especially if it seems to come from a leading Churchman.
I agree that we should be free to practice our faith and to be free from intimidation. I’m sure there are many people out there, including militant homosexuals, who wish to harm the Church and her mission. We should stand up for our faith and oppose those who wish to harm us, but I don’t think that means throwing false accusations against these people. In many cases I think it means turning the other cheek, as our Lord taught us to do, and get on with our business, treating everyone fairly and kindly. To throw false accusations against homosexuals, or anyone else, such as calling them terrorists, is in fact, to cause them harm and to place individual homosexuals in a precarious position. As Christians, it is not something we should engage in.
We are definitely called to defend our faith…with Charity yes, but defend it we must. Jesus was no wimp. He called a spade a spade. Now, if we could find an appropriate term for the aggression these gay activists display toward the Church, that is not confrontational yet describes their sometimes violent aggression toward Christians… I don’t know…terrorism seems to define it pretty well.

This is what the Cardinal said?

“You know, you don’t want the gay liberation movement to morph into something like the Ku Klux Klan, demonstrating in the streets against Catholicism.” George told the Fox Chicago reporters. “So I think if that’s what’s happening, and I don’t know that it is, but I would respect the local pastor’s, you know, position on that.”

I guess I don’t find that incredibly offensive…he said he doesn’t want it to turn into the KKK…not that it IS the KKK…if that was really all he said I don’t get the uproar…

this reminds me of a conversation in rcia were a woman tried to say gays do not have a choice
