Cardinal George’s columns seldom disappoint. He knows his message well enough that he is comfortable using simple, clear language, almost in spite of his academic training. There is always something valuable I can take away from his essays.

That is a well-written column. I’m not sure what your question is.

"Marriage exists because human nature comes in two complementary sexes: male and female. The sexual union of a man and woman is called the marital act because the two become physically one in a way that is impossible between two men or two women. Whatever a homosexual union might be or represent, it is not physically marital. Gender is inextricably bound up with physical sexual identity; and “gender-free marriage” is a contradiction in terms, like a square circle. "
–Cardinal George

What he says here is simply common sense. But the homosexual lobby will call it hate speech.

Yes, the homosexualists can sue Cardinal George for saying this. Too bad for them, since it will expose their hypocrisy.

Wonder when this statement will happen?

“-]Chick-fil-A’s/-] The Catholic Church’s values are not Chicago values,”

As a Church Leader he has done exactly what he needs to do, he has articulated Church teaching clearly and succinctly. A Catholic reading this should have no question about where the Church stands.

For people who are outside the Catholic church, it’s just a column written by someone who has no authority over them whatsoever and who holds an opinion they may or may not agree with. Some might call him a bigot, or a hater, and they’ll forget about it as soon as the next thing comes along.

As for anyone suing him, there’s really no legal ground in the US for such a thing.

They can sue him for hate speech.
There is no law against hate speech in the US. The First Amendment protections regarding freedom of speech have been interpreted, repeatedly, to rule out such laws. All kinds of hate speech, whether words or deeds, have been protected by the courts.

I don’t believe that 12 year olds should be allowed to marry. They don’t meet my definition of a Man and a Woman. Doesn’t mean I hate children…

Thank you, for demolishing the idiocy of the homosexualists and their enablers such as the SPLC and the ACLU. 🙂

“-]Chick-fil-A’s/-] The Catholic Church’s values are not Chicago values,”
Excerpt from “The Untouchables” movie the Sean Connery character “Malone” speaks:

***“They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That’s the Chicago way!”

So like any other city … Chicago would benefit if the Church’s values WERE its values.
And Chick-fil-A’s are looking superior to some of what has been called “Chicago values.”

The Chicago of my youth was really quiet on Sundays, gas stations were open (not all of them) but most stores were closed. Like Chick-fil-A does now.

And Traditional Marriage like my parents’ and all of their friends’ was a Chicago value.

This asinine politically concocted drunken party dare of an idea called “gay marriage” was nowhere to be seen 10 years ago. But now, due to the alchemy of leftist propaganda it is
the societal MUST HAVE of the day.

Jesus would be welcome in Chicago (and is in the best hearts); but maybe not in City Hall, where my Godfather (the GOOD kind of Godfather) and Uncle used to work.

He’s done more than articulate Catholic teaching. In the excerpt I quote, which I quote again below, he has simply stated the biological reality of marriage, somethng which homosexual marriage activitsts avoid like the plague. He merely states the biological facts, rather than just Catholic teaching:

"Marriage exists because human nature comes in two complementary sexes: male and female. The sexual union of a man and woman is called the marital act because the two become physically one in a way that is impossible between two men or two women.

The homosexualists have a weapon against the biological reality of marriage. Their weapon is their most usual one, that is rhetoric. Cardinal George had just demolished homosexism like a boss! 👍
