I have read some of the responses to your posting so my reasoning will be in the minority.
After some websurfing trying to find origins of the polished ad, the closest I can figure Is a chapter of the Knights of Columbus. Are they to be considered “The Catholic Church?” I would think that description belongs to the Vatican, if not the Pope alone. I know you did not call it that, but that is how it is being referred to.
At least one 4th degree K of C response resented the implication that ALL K of C chapters are behind the ad.
Separation of church and state was for a reason, and the careful wording goes to pains to try and not violate it, all the while having an obvious intent. And what of the point of the ad - who is one to vote for? Neither candidate fits the profile…
I will vote for the party that best represents the needs of the “un-rich” - that is the larger issue. I can and do object to those issues raised in the ad which I happen to agree with, but I do not throw out the baby with the bathwater.
