Maybe he used the same numerology he used to prove the Pope is the whore of Babylon to reconstruct the public file of the name change by the county court.

I ask which Pope is the antichrist, since there have been 266 of them. Still waiting for an answer. They also believe that Christ is Michael the Archangel. However, they adhere to the words of their female “pope” Ellen Gould White. She is revered as a prophet. It does not matter to them that she received a near-fatal head wound in her youth and sometime later began receiving “visions”. As a former Seventh-day Adventist myself, and convert to Catholicism, I would say without hesitation that Nicholas is a Seventh-day Adventist. Whether he is in good standing in the church or not I cannot say…but he is probably heralded as a courageous-get-the-truth-out kind of guy by many acquainted with him.i quickly browsed on the site and could not find any more info about the site; its donomination, street address, beliefs, etc. just one name - nicholas. r u sure its sda based?lots of horrendous and hateful articles especially against rome and the catholics.

Why do Seventh-day Adventists dislike the Catholic Church in particular?

Mainly due to the opinions and writings of its founders. To justify separation from the Catholic Church (and even from all other Protestant churches), differences must be pointed out, and scripture used to formulate a particular theology.
In the case of the SDA, they have come to the opinion that the “whore of Babylon” in scripture is Christ’s Church. This is anti-biblical, per Matthew 16:!8. They also believe that the Pope is the antichrist. Now, there have been 266 Popes and the SDA cannot say which one was, is, or will be the antichrist. They just demonize whoever is currently leading the Church.
They also believe that Jesus is the same as Michael the Archangel. This is very odd, since all angels are creations. Apparently, either Jesus is not God, or they worship a created God. It’s strange, and they remain on the fringe of a fringe of Protestantism. No other church agrees with them on these strange doctrinal beliefs. The Jehovah’s Witnesses have stolen at least one of their doctrines, but that’s about all.
I will make it clear that the SDA is a Christian Church, whereas the JWs are not. It can be somewhat of a fine distinction, but is nevertheless true.

I remember hearing on a talk show that SDA believe that at the end of times Catholics will heavily persecute them for not worshiping on Sundays. Not sure if this is true, but it just sounds bizarre.

Well, I can see where people would get the impression that catholics are evil. There is a market for catholic bashing because so many have been hurt by the catholic church.remnantofgod.org/
The guy that runs this site needs some prayers. He is very confused and instead of doing things to lift God up seems to be trapped in a life where he consumes himself with bashing the Catholic Church.
If you try to e-mail him any corrections he considers you some kind of deeply misinformed person that is going to go to hell if you don’t change your ways. Ultimately will block your e-mail and refuse to communicate with you, because you are evil for questioning the word of God. He’ll twist what you are saying into something evil and let you know that he will use this as proof on his radio broadcast about how we are.
It’s clear that he has decided to use his own interpretation of the Bible to fit his own beliefs.
I just wanted to point out this site, encourage you attempt to e-mail him to let him know you are praying for him to see the truth and realize that God calls us to be humble servants and we are not here to judge God’s people.
Remember aruging with him goes nowhere, he is deaf to the truth, but maybe a different approach is best. . Don’t give Catholics a bad name by sending him hate mail. Besides he says that hate mail from Catholics just shows him that what he says is true that we are evil. Good luck.
I think maybe, in addition to praying for this angry soul, it would be a good idea to pray for the catholic church, that it might some day learn to love more perfectly its fellow men and women.

this reminds me of people i know who think they know scripture so well… and seem to obey a lot of it… and yet they are uncharitable toward others who dont’ believe the way they do… They are swatting at the gnat and swallowing the camel. Mostly because of their interpretaion of the Books of Daniel and Revelation. They believe that the Catholic Church is the fulfillment of the Whore of Babylon, and that the papacy is the fulfillment of the anti-christ. They base this primarily on their misunderstanding and assertion that the Cathoic Church changed the sabbath from saturday to sunday…without actually understanding the Catholic Church teaching regarding this.
They believe they are the “true church” at the end of time with the mission to call out all true Christians from all the churches, to return to following God by keeping the 10 commandments.
It is a long and intricate story…but a story nonetheless.

Since there have been 266 popes, they obviously believe in demonic succession, but then they reject Apostolic succession. Hmmmm…
Just the personal history of their "pope’, Ellen Gould White, could be a mini-series! “Maine woman survives near fatal head injury and possible mercury poisoning. Suddenly receives visions and founds vegetarian church centered on Old Testament Sabbath.”
This has made for some interesting conversations with my SDA Chaplain at work. As to their teaching about the Catholic Church, the SDA pastor was “shocked” that a Catholic could be on fire for the Lord. Another stereotype shattered? I’m not holding out too much hope on that front…

Not only that, but the Catholic Church strong armed the Protestants into worshipping on Sunday. I wonder why the Church didn’t simply strong arm them back into the church? I also wonder who strong armed the Apostles to begin gathering on Sunday…

A very good point!
I have linked to some of her writings, and quoted her somewhat extensively, in some of my other posts in other threads on this forum, at times when other posters denied claims made in reference to her. I could link to those posts of mine here, but I don’t know if it would be worthwhile or not…but they are some of her most pointed remarks against the Catholic Church.
I posted a quote of hers where she is writing about “God’s highest authority on earth”…and surprisingly it is very Catholic in philosophy…only everything applies to the SDA church…which isn’t so surprising I suppose.
It took me personally, many years and much much prayer to see the truth in Catholic teaching…and I thank God everyday that He allowed the scales to fall from my eyes.
