This is a matter of the natural moral law not Church discipline. Where did Jesus say scandal is only a problem for people of certain groups? We’re not talking about Pharisees and Saducees here. We’re talking about a non-believer. When does Jesus speak of the scandalous behavior of non-believers?
I’m serious about this. Please point to me in the teachings of Christ from Scripture where Jesus talks of the scandalous behavior of non-believers and how to treat them.
Scripture must be reconciled with all of Scripture and with the teaching of the Church. You cannot pull out one verse and set it in opposition to all else to make your point. This is an honest question. I think I recall Christ speaking of treating someone ‘like the tax collectors’ or something to that effect, but the Scripture passage is alluding me right now. Scriptural support for your position would be helpful in your position.
