I find this claim quite interesting. To begin with you accuse “so many here” of misrepresenting Protestant doctrines without giving even one example. We, on the other hand, have pointed out that our understanding of Protestant doctrine comes to us from Protestants themselves. Not just Baptists, but from many of the seemingly endless varieties of Protestant belief. Additionally, Melchior specifically addressed Luther’s own teaching; from which I quoted extensively to show that he taught exactly what I initally said he taught. It has only served to strenghten my stereo-types of many Catholics as ignorant. So many here accuse protestants of misrepresenting Catholics and then they do the very same thing. I constantly bring up historical Protestant doctrines in topics here and even when I explain what I am getting at, people still choose to squeeze all protestants into the 21st century Evangelical Baptist box.
Since you have offered no refutation of this, I hope you’ll excuse this poor, ignorant Catholic for not accepting your stereotype.
