Hey, I’m not saying that a lot of Jews won’t have to pay for not heeding the commands in Leviticus about how to treat the alien in your land, etc. But the landlord (and believe me – Israel is G_D’s land – He’s just letting people live there) has already evicted them a couple of times for not obeying the terms of the lease. ** We know this time the Jews are here to stay – the Landlord has said so**. We need to adapt to what the Landlord says, not the other way around.
Has a new book been added to the Bible since 1948!?!?

Since you bring up a single event for everybody to condemn Israel as a nation, then Google the SS St.Louis. Before Israel became a nation again, the US denied this ship full of European Jewish families to dock, thus sending them back to Europe to face the Nazis.
Yes, but we didn’t stab anyone in the back when we turned that ship around, nor did we know about the holocaust.

Yes, that is true and it is terrible.

However, if we were to judge every nation by past wrongs, I think only the Vatican City would be clean.

Consider America itself. The United States has done as much evil as Israel, one might argue. In WW2, the United States murdered a very large number of innocent civilians through the use of firebombs and then the atomic weapons. The atomic bombing of Nagasaki even wiped out a significant portion of Japan’s Catholic population.

So what I am saying is that Israel’s government now is not the same one as it was at that time. They have some severe sins of the past, but they can change now and in the future.
I can never think of a situation where the Vatican stabbed a close ally in the back. Israel stabbed us in the back, and to this day they claim it was an “accident”.

America was going out on a generous limb to protect the nation of Israel. We helped supply them when the Arabs were attacking them. Then Israel sees we have a data-gathering ship (Liberty) in international water, and they start shooting napalm and torpedos at it because they don’t want us picking up any data that may incriminate them.

Israel was and still is a decietful nation.

Well, if you read my post, you would see that I said the Vatican is the only one with a clean record.

Seems like all threads about Israelis/Palestinians end up in the same old debates. If we, as Christians, whose lives are not in the constant state of tension that theirs are, cannot sort it out logically, how are they supposed to?

Seems like one of the main messages of Christ is that the concept of “I am better than you” needs to be shed in favor of “I love you like God loves you”. It’s that simple folks, really. Now if only we could apply it to every nation, tribe, culture and individual…

Christ chose to die for us all therefore we are all His chosen people. His promises apply to all who believe and His command to love applies to everyone, not just those we happen to side with…Peace.

I’d argue that we all have potential to be His choson, but to literally be the choson you must first accept His sacrifice.

Yes, as it was said.
His promises apply to all who believe and His command to love applies to everyone
His command applies to everyone. His promise to all who accept Him.

Jacob is Israel. God changed the name of Jacob to Israel it is not a country, do you think God is talking aboutbut the 10 tribes of Israel.

When Jesus returns his chosen people from all the nation, the 10 tribes of God will be greater than the land they have now, don’t you think. We are all God children who believe through out the nations of the world. Israel ( country name) is not the Israel God is speaking about in the bible. God is not talking about land, he is talking about his children Israel ( Jacob) When I look in the bible map the land God gives them is greater than what they have now. It is all divided by the names of the 10 tribes.

But not till all the gentles are in. Jesus Christ was not crucified for a piece of land was he? For God is the creator and owner of all things seen and not seen. Israel is his chosen people their are Israelites, hebrews. Jesus was a Hebrew. Moses was a Hebrew. we all come now from the seed of Abraham through Jesus Christ.

Thanks God Bless
That was very good. Thank you.

Jesus did not die for a piece of land. That whole concept is irrelevant. The land was necessary for a while – to preserve the Word of God until the Messiah would come. The children of Abraham are all those who live in the Mystical Body of Christ. We are children in a spiritual bond – which is deeper and more complete than the racial identity of the Hebrew people.

The modern state of Israel was not established by God and it has nothing to do with the Bible. Jesus was not concerned with real estate, nor was He concerned with racial identity. His death and resurrection were to bring all of humanity into His own life – that is the true Israel and the true Kingdom (His Church, His Sacraments).

As Catholics, we want to preserve the sacred places in the Holy Land – because those are the places where Jesus lived and worked His miracles. But the State of Israel really has nothing to do with that. It was established by the United Nations to give the people of Hebrew descent a “home”.

We can be certain that this fight over land and a modern government in Israel is not what God wants now nor what He wanted in the past.

Support for the Israel state that is heard so much in Evangelical Protestantism is based on a faulty interpretation of the Scriptures. Since Protestantism has no holy places of its own, some leaders decided that “Israel” as mentioned in the Bible, means the land in the place now owned by the Israeli government. They also think that God commands us to preserve that state – at all cost. Even the cost of billions of dollars and warfare.

Being of Hebrew blood is not the issue. In the new dispensation of Christ, it doesn’t have a meaning and is not required. It’s not the bloodline that gives us holiness and sanctification.

In the Kingdom of Christ, those who were the most outcast in terms of race or bloodlines (perhaps American Indians like St. Kateri Tekawitha, or African slaves like St. Josephine Bakhita) are the greatest in the Kingdom of God (the new Jerusalem). Far more than many who have the natural-bloodline of Abraham.

All that said, there is no excuse or defense for hatred or animosity towards the Hebrew people at all. That does need to be said because sadly, there are some who harbor that hatred. That is obviously an evil thing that cannot be acceptable to God. We must love the Hebrew people and admire them in many ways – as we admire all racial groups and people of different faiths for various reasons.

But Judiasm, as we know, is not correct about some things of major importance. Obviously, Jesus desires and deserves to be honored and worshipped by all people and is not in this case.

The chosen people of God are those who live in that relationship with His Son – through the choice they make to accept Him.

It’s not through following rituals (alone) or through a pure Hebrew blood-line that one is part of the chosen people.

Is anyone else disgusted by the views of televangelist John Hagee? He is a fanatical zionist and he acts like Israel is more holy than anything else on earth. He claims modern Israel was directly created by God (not man).

Ideology like that is dangerous!

But there are many Israelites (Jews??? do not know what to call them) say the very same thing. God has created this State, in their eyes. I also know that the very Orthodox Jews do not believe that at all and do not support this sentiment.

Despite what you say, Israel is the only nation that has a promised remnant in Church. But yet Sabbah or any other person on this thread thank or praise God for that. All I’m reading is how they are the new chosen ones, when there is a remant of the original ones in the Church.

And I’m sure todays remant echo St.Pauls words found in Romans 9:1-5
I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it in the Holy Spirit— I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race, the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

Or Romans 10:1
Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.

So today we see that God is bringing the Israelites back into the land and it is sad to see Church members and especially so called leaders do nothing but side with the world, especially Islam, that these Israelites are of no biblical importance and contantly condemning them for everything they do-EVEN TO EXIST!!!

Sad

There was no J in the Hebrew language before Christ. Hebrew alphabet went by sound in the time of Moses. I know your are going to say there was but do the research. The OT is now in English. God’s name was YHWH, Yahweh, Yah. Same goes for Moses was spelled differently. The letter J came into effect in our Alphabet in 1400 or what ever.

Jesus name was not Jesus in Hebrew. Yahshuah, Messiyah, notice at the end means God, I forget what Mess, have to look it again. But I think it means Savior. Messiyah means Savior God. And you wonder why we argue over in some religions over this. Is Jesus, God etc. Know his name, in his name.

Hebrew–Halle/u/yah means “Praise you God”
Elehom means “Holy” in Hebrew
God Bless very little child of God.

And there are many Muslims who say God gave the land to them. And when both sides claim God is on their side, you have unending war.

I accep that vern. You are right. As far as the Church saying that the moslems have the same God as we do, I do not believe the Catholic Church recognizes the Koran as the Torah as being the Word of God. Correct me if I am wrong.

I believe it is not all Israelites that believe that the State of Israel was instituted by God (as opposed to the Land of Israel), it must also be true on the muslim side of things. I would appreciate your (name removed by moderator)ut.
