Every time I hear someone make this joke, I think of when my younger brother and I went to see “The Shoes of the Fisherman”. (Excellent movie, BTW) It was a very powerful movie for its time, and as we left our small-town theater, I turned in the lobby to see my brother on one knee digging for something under the seats. He admitted later that just before he left, he automatically turned to the screen and genuflected! He realized what was happening on his way down, and managed to make it look like he had dropped something!
