Fatboy,
We wish you would stay. I’m not sure what to believe about you. You stated
All of your words above are admirable and we all assume them to be true. It’s your testimony. I will still assume them to be true.
To the point of this thread, the Catholic Church never practiced polygamy but you clearly thought it did based on some type of research or facts as you knew them. We assumed that you were going to respond to the sources that you used. But we never received the sources of your research.
My sense is that this discussion evolved into what I think are secondary disputes on JS’s wives…who said what about who (or is that about whom?). I would defer to RebeccaJ’s opinion but for me the two sincere questions that I have, if you are willing to answer are:
- What evidence is there that there was a “Great Apostasy” in the Catholic Church?
- Is there credible evidence that JS was a prophet from God?
What I would also share is that every Catholic that has posted on LDS in some way, has a lot of respect and admiration for the LDS love of family and the missionary efforts of the youth. The LDS love of family has strong parallels in the Catholic Church and the world would be much better if Catholic’s had a similar missionary effort.
I hope you come back and I pray that you will. You say that you are a farmer…where I come from the farmers are tougher than the bulls.
