I know. That is exactly why I said, “I am all for constant monitoring and calling Catholic charities into account.” Note that the papal letter stated that the bishops need to be diligent. Of course the laity can help by bringing awareness and information to light, but the oversight needs to be episcopal. That is what the Catholic news services claim happen. The AB there and two bishops here conferred and determined that the accusations were unfounded. If new information comes to light, I am confident they will respond accordingly.The Pope himself (cited in post #31 above) wrote an Apostolic Letter, which I linked in an earlier post, describing these failures in detail, telling the Bishops to be more diligent in overseeing the activities of their charities…
