Wrong question. The child WILL miss out on it, unless the Catholic parent kidnaps the child or goes behind the royal parent’s back against his or her express wishes (both of which actions violate the liberty of conscience which the document demands respect for).That’s the Church of England’s problem. Why should the child miss out because of it?
The fact that the Church demands that these things be handled in a way which respects the freedom of conscience of the non-Catholic parent makes it the Church’s problem.
A problem, may I remind you, that St Monica resolved neither by going behind her husband’s back nor by forcing him to agree to her demands by nagging or threats, nor even repeated requests that I am aware of.
