The Catholic who believes in and argues for the “transgender” ideology not only lies but blasphemes.

this child should not be allowed to come to school “as a boy.”
You imply an immorality in that act. I don’t think that is established.
The immorality of the act stems from what it means to be male and female. Our sex is part of our nature as human persons that can’t be separated from our identity. Our identity is not determined by how we feel or what we think of ourselves - it’s objective reality that remains as is no matter how we may feel about it.

An excerpt from a good document on the topic:

“The concept of gender transitioning, however, stands in radical opposition to a proper understanding of the nature of the human person. It presupposes that there is a “self” that is separate from the body, which happens to find itself in a body and which might therefore be in the wrong body. Yet the human person is a full body–soul unity, not a “ghost in the machine” or a spirit inhabiting the body. A particular person does not merely have a body: he or she is that body. In the words of Pope St. John Paul II, the “human body expresses the person.”

Greetings in Christ.
I will pray for you and everyone involved. It think that going to the archdiocese might be the right thing to do. You could also just transfer your child without going to the archdiocese. This is a sensitive situation for all involved and the transgender child should be safe, loved, and respected. I completely agree that the child shouldn’t be treated hatefully. It seems from what you’ve written that much of what the school is doing is not good. Pray to the Holy Ghost for guidance and keep everyone involved in your prayers.

God bless you and your family

Mentally, she “feels like” a boy. How does she know that? How does she know what it is like to feel like a boy?

Obviously there is a disconnect between the biological reality and the mental thought, which is the problem.
This seems to be the key point. I am male, do I have any idea what it feels like to be a male? Does my maleness feel the same to me as my brother’s feels to him? These are absurd questions. We don’t feel our gender at all IMO. Are there different in a woman’s and man’s emotional behaviors, ie feelings? Of course. But we don’t have an emotion ofbeing a man or woman.

I will add to my previous response. There is a growing movement to raise children gender neutral or gender fluid. In these cases, it is likely the probable directly stems from the abuse of the parents.

They are not that rare (I think it’s 1 in 200 births in which an infants genitalia is is not typical.)
You need to back this with some source data.
The statistics you provided would indicate millions every year.

Surely this would then be much more known.

Yes, Child Services would have become involved in the family and by the grace of God, given her a better life.

There is a difference between being born with atypical genitalia and being transgender.

From what I understand, medical professionals and psychologists are involved less and less ín these cases.

Gender is not assigned at birth. A baby is born and is either a male or female.
That is mostly true, save rare exceptions where the biological sex is actually unclear. I object to the “gender assigned” terminology also.

Obviously there is a disconnect between the biological reality and the mental thought, which is the problem.
Yes. The “biological thought” has some kind of physical basis - though we don’t know what. That’s why drugs have been able to treat various conditions by acting in/on the brain.

I’m not sure it needs to be a problem. Since it’s so rare and ignored for so long we don’t know much about it. It could be an anomaly or difference, but not a problem.
It’s a problem if it causes distress or leads one to the difficult circumstances faced by so many dysphoria sufferers. It it’s so severe that it requires bodily mutilation to allow one to cope, its a very serious problem.

We don’t know that gender dysphoria has a biological basis.

Even tho we think that the effectiveness of psychiatric medicines means the problem for which they are prescribed has a physical basis (given the ongoing neuroplasticity of the brain, that may not be the case), none of these medicines seems to alleviate gender dysphoria, and the studies of brain differences have not been conclusive at all.

and you don’t understand the devastating consequences on focusing more on what you consider to be a lie then to give someone the opportunity to find God’s love, giving them the opportunity to be filled with the Holy Spirit? There has to be a better solution then just cutting them off

well… I’ll post this again:

Thank God for the people who brought Jesus into my life… I might have never found Him other wise.

and add:

… with the thinking of some people on this thread, I would have never found Him.

my issues isn’t that some people just refuse to understand what the principal is trying to do, or how hard this is not only for them but for the child & the parents, all you see is what you consider is a sin… and how it needs to be destroyed.

Thank God, You are in charge. I pray Your Will be done… Amen.

God Bless.

How facile it is for some to say (not you, however) “I condemn the sin but not the sinner,” when they are actually condemning BOTH sin and sinner by behaving in an uncharitable, unloving way toward the latter. No, those with strong religious views do not have to accept transgenders; however, that is no reason not to afford them the common courtesy, let alone love, by engaging them as HUMAN BEINGS made in the image and likeness of G-d. Come on, Catholics and others, practice what you preach by your actions, not merely by spouting clichés such as “hate the sin and love the sinner” while you show no real loving behavior toward the transgendered child, even refusing to call them according to their preferred name. Be a mensch.
