E.E.N.S.:
I see two things questionable with your statement:
**Since you understood the metaphore, and understood it was a metaphore, I’m not sure where you want me to go with this.
- though I understand what you are trying to say, I still think it is somewhat inappropriate to want the Blessed Virgin Mary to cry;
No, it is not my intention or wish to purposely bring Mary to tears, nor did I leave the church hoping to make Mary cry, nor do I get some sick thrill out of causing distress. **
and 2) you are admitting that you left THE Faith…why in the world would you leave THE Faith? (And if you didn’t believe it to be THE Faith, then why would you or the Blessed Virgin Mary care?)
**
Having been raised Catholic, and since I am speaking to Catholics here, it seemed reasonable to refer to the Catholic faith the way that Catholics do as “the faith”, Caps and emphasis were yours.
I had many reasons and issues of faith that led to my leaving the Catholic church. But that is the subject of either another thread, or a private message.

These are honest concerns that I have - I am not trying to be argumentative.
