                                                Islam is 82 Sects, all  having diffrerent leaders and  agendas.        And Individual Muslims I know  (A few)  have ideal attitudes of  Peacefull helping each other.

Only First one was called for by the Vatican, to Recapture the Holy Land.    The Crusades were  For Proprty, Personal  glory, loot, everything   Except  the Church.     Catholic Name was USED, and Defamned the Church. Ditto terrorists, Bin Laden,   Even the late Saddam, who Used Islam opposite  of how it was intended.

Well, actually it was islam that did the problems that caused the Crusades. And it is muslims that are distorting the history of islam. It is a common tactic that muslims use - to change history to suit their needs. Sorry to upset you because I know that sometimes the truth hurts.

We are not misunderstanding islam - if the muslims who are, as you say, misunderstanding it - then you should waste your energy on them to tell them the correct way. (I used ‘waste’ on purpose because #1. you know that they are not misinterpreting islam, and #2. you know about fatwas).

How is these two guys misinterpreting islam?

I would say there are number of similarities between Catholic and Muslim moral teachings concerning:

• abortion
• contraception (except for the teaching amongst some Muslims that life begins at implantaion, not conception).
• marriage (except for the Muslim polygamy thing) and divorce (except for the ease in which Muslim divorces are obtained)
• dishonor killings (except its not allowed in Catholic culture).
  On second thought . . . . .

I would like to just gently point out that so-called “honor killings” are not allowed in Islam. In fact it is expressly forbidden, and even though we all see that they are carried out anyway, they are NOT a part of Islam.

I would like to just gently point out that so-called “honor killings” are not allowed in Islam. In fact it is expressly forbidden, and even though we all see that they are carried out anyway, they are NOT a part of Islam.

Q1) Does it have to fight non-Muslims to make them Muslim?
A1) No, in fact that isn’t even allowed.

Q1) Is it allowed to fight at all?
A1) Depends. It is only allowed to fight if it is attacked, or if another country is persecuting its population based on religion.

And since in general that isn’t happening…

no.

They are a part of some cultures where Islam has spread to, but they predate Islam and for some reason manage to spread even out of their original locales to places like Canada and the United States. It is a worldwide crime that I think we should all–Muslims, Catholics, Jews, anyone–stand up and denounce it as an abomination, as an evil, illegal, and fully unrighteous act that is NOT in any way condoned by religion.

Oops … I apologize for the confusion here. The book gives a detailed view of how muslims have suffered at the hands of west. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings. I am a muslim and I respect Christianity (because according to my reading its closest to Islam) and I never blame Christianity based on the wrong doings of modern day Christians. Because, just like its unjust to judge Islam based on some idiosyncratic view of Bin Laden or Zawahri, similarly it would be devilish to judge Christianity based on the wrong doings of Christians.
