I stand on the basis of Truth, in defence of the Holy Bible. For YHWH and Yeshua. I will defend the Bible and its word, one argument at a time. All are welcome to the conversation, you seek truth, then, let us reason with the scriptures.

If Jesus said, call no man Father on earth, why would you go against it?
Matthew 23: 9 And do not call anyone on earth your father, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.

Pray to YHWH in the name of Jesus.
The Bible says there is “One” mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 2: A Call to Prayer
…4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all—the testimony that was given at just the right time.…

Why so many Idols? They even had the audacity to take this commandment out. The Bible’s 10 commandments are different from “Catholic” 10 Commandments.

Exodus 20 4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
 
Where is it written in your bible explicitly which books belong in your bible? Why do you agree with Catholics on the same 27 books in the New Testament? There are many more books to choose from. How do you know your bible isn’t missing any?
 
“For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel.” 1 Corinthians 4:15

Jesus doesn’t prohibit us calling anyone father. If we applied this measure of yours equally across everything Jesus said in the surrounding verses, you couldn’t refer to your teachers by their titles, or doctors as doctors. The entire passage is a warning against pride and a call to humility, not a ban on the usage of any terms.

Jesus also says to call no one rabbi because we have one teacher, yet He very explicitly told the apostles to do a teacher’s job just before He ascended into heaven. There’s no problem with the title if there’s nothing wrong with the action.

But you’ve already made up your mind.

Those quotes have nothing to do with why we call them Holy Father.
 
Likewise how do you know that your bible has writing that doesn’t belong, and is contradicting to the bible.
 
I’m Catholic I know because Scripture says that God instituted a Church - Matthew 16:18
Scripture also says the Church is the ground and pillar of truth - 1 Timothy 3:15
The Church upholds only those 27 books

Now again where does Scripture tell you which books belong in “your” bible?
 
First of all it is in all the Catholic Bibles and most Catholics understand this as part of the first commandment.
 
Obviously not if you are bowing to statues every day.

Everything you’re accusing us of has been thoroughly answered in the past.

We refer to Jesus’ priests as father because of the example the apostles have given us.

We have statues (not idols, contrary to your belief) because God commanded their creation in the Old Testament, and because they are helpful to us in prayer. We are visually-guided creatures, and God knows this.

We pray (ask) to the saints just like they were someone in our parish. Intercessory prayer is commended and encouraged in the Bible which you try to take from us. Jesus being the God-Man (one mediator) does not mean that we are no longer free to ask for others to pray for our intentions.

Why is it that you rebel against the Pillar and Bulwark of the Truth when Jesus founded a visible Church- just as the Father founded a visible nation in Israel? Why do you reject the priests of the Son when the Father set apart a priesthood in the tribe of Levi? Why don’t you accept the witnesses of the first Christians who accepted all that you reject?

If we understand idols the way you do then we’d have to throw out that part of the Old Testament where they built the ark and casted forms of the Angels for it.
 
Sounds like a graven image of heaven above to me. Your God contradicts himself then?
 
I still don’t understand how you agree with Catholics on 27 books of the New Testament.
 
In the Old Testament, the High Priest would sprinkle blood on the Ark for the forgiveness of the people.
Leviticus 16
13 And he shall put the incense upon the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, that he die not:
14 And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.
15 Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:

Hebrews 9
•7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
•8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:

Hebrews 4:14-10:
Jesus the Great High Priest
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,[a] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
 
Jesus entered into the True Tabernacle in Heaven, and Sprinkled his blood on the Heavenly Ark and made atonement as a perfect sacrifice once and for all.

Hebrews 10
Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All
10 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. 2 Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. 3 But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins. 4 It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:

“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
but a body you prepared for me;
6 with burnt offerings and sin offerings
you were not pleased.
7 Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—
I have come to do your will, my God.’”

8 First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—though they were offered in accordance with the law. 9 Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. 14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:

16 “This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”

17 Then he adds:

“Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more.”

18 And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.
 
The Bronze Serpent has a specific purpose. John 3 “14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,”
The People had sinned, snakes had come about them they were being poisoned, those who looked upon the Staff were healed. To Signify our looking to Jesus on the Cross to heal us from the venom of death.
