The koran is NOT a direct revelation by allah. If you take the islamic teachings, it is claimed that an angel revealed these so called “revelations” to mohamad.

Allah never spoke to mohamad.

God speaks to all of his prophets. God does not and has never sent Angel Gabriel to be his mouthpiece to reveal "revelations.

Gabriels job in the Bible is to pass on a message and return to God.

God is not the author of confusion.
The Qur’an is proof that Allah DID reveal the Qur’an to Muhammad (saw) by sending the angel Jibreel.

My son is 30 and he’s finally getting married, but the woman is a Muslim. I think she is a wonderful young lady. However, I have an overwheming sadness. 😦

I am a Catholic school religion teacher! Can anyone help me understand how I can reconcile this in my own mind?

Hi there & welcome to CAF.

According to Islam, a muslim woman cannot marry a Christian or Jew or lets just say a non-muslim.

Do you know if she is religious?

If she is, most likely your son will have to convert to islam in order to marry her under islamic law.

Yes, he has converted.

How does you son feel in giving up the belief regarding Jesus per the Catholic faith…?
Azeem: Where I come from, Christian, there are women of such beauty, that they can posess a man’s mind so, that he be willing to die for them.
-Robin Hood (Costner’s version)

It’s sad.

Mash’Allah!

One day that will be me taking my shahada.
Would you say the same thing if she had decided to convert out?

The difference in this situation is his family will still love and accept him (though acceptance is not approval as so modernly thought), whereas her family in all likelihood would disown her or maybe even kill her (and him).

By the way, it’s “Masha’Allah”, though I do dig the idea of mashing…

Stay safe.

I don’t dislike Muslims. They are people like you and me. They just happen to be following a false religion. Just because we don’t agree with their beliefs doesn’t mean we hate them.

Daralharb;

We have been through the ‘Inquisitions’ so how does that make us any better?

Blessings

Yes, he has converted.
:dts: It’s very wrong to convert because of an earthy thing!, if your son has chosen to convert then that should be because that he was convinced by the religion itself NOT because of someone else telling him to convert in order to marry !!!.
