I love extra cheese and pineapple. (we need a licking your lips smiley.) I also get a craving every now and then for cheese, black olives, and mushrooms. But then I am the only one eating it.
The honest truth is tha I love it all, but cannot have it because I had a heart attack on Jan. 6, 2002ā¦But, I do have a bite now and thenā¦ I especially love Hawaian pizzasā¦and lots of cheese.
:twocents: I voted pepperoni, but my favorite pizza has been Greek pizza. Pita bread crust, feta cheese, sliced tomatoes, gyro meat and other fun stuff. (Perhaps this would be more Eastern Catholic food?)
At a superbowl party this past year, a friend and I decided to put some of the chili cheese dip on the pizza that was ordered. I have to say that was the best pizza I ever had, so my vote is for chili cheese pizza!
My understanding is that the Pope has not spoken dogmatically on the nature of toppings for pizza, so it remains a matter of personal choice. Having lived in Italy for 3 years, I choose Pizza Rustica, with Tomatos, basil, cheese, prosciutto, and olive oil.
Since everyone knows that pizza is from Chicago, you should also know that the most basic and, indeed, perfect topping is italian sausage. And it constitutes serious matter to consume said pizza without cold beer.
One of my favorite toppings (well it isnāt really a topping) is peanut butter. Yes, I know it sounds yucky, but when I tried it at a local pizza place I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza is a normal pepperoni pizza with a thin layer of peanut butter added before the tomato sauce.
Thin or medium crustā¦ crispy. Dont give me any New York style where the pizza slice flops down and I lose my toppingsā¦I dont like āfoldingā my pizza.
Toppings:
Xtra Cheese (only if I find the place skimps on regular cheese)
Though not all on one pizza, my favs are:
Jalapeno
Bacon topping (cooked REAL bacon bits)
Canadian bacon
Pepperoni
Red onion
