“Do not judge” is the devil’s favorite scripture. When Jesus tells us not to judge, it is that we are not to condemn another’s soul. This does not say we should not warn others about sin.yes?

And who encourages them to think this way? Certainly not the Church but every media device you can think of.That’s another aspect of political correctness: that anyone who critictises homosexuality and its promotion is a ‘hater’.
I think it’s called congnitive dissonance. You introduce two conflicting ideas into someone’s mind
To resolve the tension, the person, who thinks of themselves as ‘nice’, eases the tension by accepting proposition 2) above.
- That homsexual acts are depraved
- That despising these and those who promote them is bigotry.
Like who wants to be a bigot, right? And thus the trick is done.
Fascinating, really, how our generation now happily promotes things our ancestors would have thought depraved. And feels pious in doing so!
I’ll take that as a “No”.“Do not judge” is the devil’s favorite scripture. When Jesus tells us not to judge, it is that we are not to condemn another’s soul. This does not say we should not warn others about sin.
Really?? One of the most difficult conversations I’ve held in my life, came about because I loved someone enough to worry about their soul.Rarely.
And I don’t remember Jesus ever asking that we do this toward each other.
LETS FACE THE TRUTH? God created ManCorrect. The pride is not in being homosexual though. It is in being human; made in the likeness of God. I’ve never understood identifying oneself by their sexual inclination, especially a disordered inclination. There are people whose trial is compulsive masturbation. They don’t choose to be compulsive masturbators, but that doesnt make their inclination or behavior something to celebrate. These people also have great talents and gifts, but you don’t see a lot of compulsive masturbator pride parades.![]()
Ya, I think I would take a pass on that one.Correct. The pride is not in being homosexual though. It is in being human; made in the likeness of God. Does your response come from your unbelief? We know we will live forever…in this sense salvation is more important to us than the body.Rarely.

Tigg;7200675:
Extending moral clarity and admonishing the sinner is an act of spiritual love.
The wind will blow where it will. Do not stifle the Spirit, etc. Who knows when a mere word, or a link, or an article quoted may plant the seed of conversion.Whether or not the posters are experts, it certainly is a blood sport on this Forum. It does often tend to be a game of “Gotcha!,” but I don’t think anyone wants it otherwise.
Does anyone honestly think that minds will be changed by the points they make in their debates here? I think not.
Do you think that we’ll have Adultery Pride Parades? Tiger W. could be the Grand Marshall. Perhaps we could get the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to take up the cause of Gluttons, Liars & Narcissists. That way, we could lobby for the “uncondemning” of about half of the Seven Deadly Sins.Ya, I think I would take a pass on that one.Imagine Hollywood getting all weeweed up about that like they do about someone who “comes out of the closet”?

So we can have Glutton Pride parades (skip the parade and just move on to the pizza and funnel cakes), Lecher Pride Parades (New Orleans Mardi Gras Parade?), Pride…Pride(?) parades (imagine a Pride Parade about being full of pride?, oye) Rage Pride Parade (YIKES!), Greed Pride Parade (who would pay for it?), Envy Pride Parade (It would have to be better than all the others), Sloth Pride Parade (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, no one would organize it or bother showing up!)Do you think that we’ll have Adultery Pride Parades? We ALL sin, including me…but I’m not proud of it.

I’ll have to admit I find it rather humorous to be debating Scripture with an atheist but, the passage is very clear. It says what it says Also you make the common mistake of claiming that unless Jesus says something it doesn’t matter. There are numerous, numerous, Scripture passages telling us we should admonish sinners for their own good. For those of us who believe that Scripture is inspired word of God all Scripture carries the same weight -regardless of whether it was said by Jesus or not. To those who do not believe in God I’m a loss as to why they would be quoting what they would have to consider to be a book of fiction to back up their arguments. Here is the whole thing:
I take this to be more about wrongs committed against others and trying to redress them with witnesses. I don’t see anything about admonishment, nor about sexual sin, certainly. The prior passage is about lost sheep; this one is not.
I’m a moderator on another forum where one poster summed it all up: “We never want to feel guilty or ashamed or sinful ever again.”Do you think that we’ll have Adultery Pride Parades? Exactly. That is why many choose agnosticism or relativism. It is easier to live life guilt free, if you don’t believe in absolutes. You just rationalize whatever you want.I’m a moderator on another forum where one poster summed it all up: “We never want to feel guilty or ashamed or sinful ever again.”
This is the guiding philosophy for some people. This is their idea of freedom. The form of living out this freedom often occurs in being slaves to their own flesh. The good is called evil because it makes them uncomfortable. Anything that makes them feel good must be praised by others - regardless of how perverted it is.
Yeah, just like a slogan that appeared a long time ago on the wall of a university in Paris: It is forbidden to forbid!
Uh, huh.
God bless,
Ed
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence qualified as a 501c3 nonprofit ?!?Do you think that we’ll have Adultery Pride Parades? Tiger W. could be the Grand Marshall. Yeah, that priority is dangerous to justice on this planet. I don’t trust it. It has been used to trump all sorts of worldly concerns.Does your response come from your unbelief? We know we will live forever…in this sense salvation is more important to us than the body.
Exactl.y! How in Gods name could a faithful Catholic debate, have discussions with atheist, agnostics, homosexuals,or even Protestents,Because they think their right and Catho, ics dont know what their talking about.? Catholics need to talk ,more often, with each other than with the lesser folks? And thats why I belong to 20 Catholic sites.I’ll have to admit I find it rather humorous to be debating Scripture with an atheist but, the passage is very clear. There are other people on the planet, right? Not all Catholics even marry in their own faith, so, um, you gotta talk to someone.Exactl.y! Yeah, there is still that gnawing feeling inside though. Many come here to see how much mileage they can get with those rationalizations. I guess it makes them feel better.Exactly.
