In my mind it would be, compare scripture in context and see if it conflicts with other scripture in context and if so, that is the one that is false! lol Sounds easier than it is but with much diligence, search, prayer and guidance we can come to the truth. :]
Oh for goodness sakes here. You really don’t mean that do you.

What is there is 5 people who all read it, and they all keep in in the context that its written then which one of the 5 do you pick or how? Flip a coin.

You kow this thread is Catholics neet to read their bibles. From the looks of things here, I think Catholic’s are doing a pretty good job.

You cannot read the bible and understand it within its context without Tradition. Because alot of times Tradition is a word you can miss.

Simple example. You read this scripture and tell me what it means.

Here it goes:

The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to till it and keep it. Okay cr8 What does that mean?

2nd Adam;5883052:
Through God’s special revelation known as Sacred Scripture togther with the illuminating work of God Himself (Spirit of God). [SIGN]Nobody knows the will of God perfectly, except God Himself./[/SIGN]QUOTE]

Then what is the purpose of the Living Church. If God did not want us to know his will, why did he come down as Jesus Christ. and remain here as the Holy Spirit. What would that purpose be for at all?

And more to the point of this whole discussion why did he even leave his word if he didn’t expect anyone to understand it?
It seems to me anyone who reads the bible with a willingness to follow God will be given wisdom from above. If you only had the bible and no denominations and you have believers who honestly seeked the truth through the scriptures, the will of God would definitly be discerned.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

According to the book of Romans we don’t need RCIA to find the perfect, acceptable and good will of God. 😃

The bible has the will of God written all in it and its all God-breathed, why does it seem this is so often missed?

you took it out of context though and didn’t explain what you think it means in accordance with other scripture. If you just want my take on it then I would atleast like a reference as to where you got that scripture. Are you referring to Gen 2:8?

You say your leader is Jesus Christ. you say he leads you via Scripture. You and I differ on what scripture syas. How do we resolve that?
Since Scripture is the Word of God, there is so much in there that we can discuss. You state that we differ on what Scirpture says. I will turn that around and say that there is so much that agree in what Scripture reveals. Do you want to debate the Trinity, or the dual nature of Christ, or His incarnation, His ressurection, etc… So, where do we go from here? There is actually more we agree upon than what we disagree upon.

Then how do you explain the thousands of different Christian denomoinations all using the same Scripture yet coming up with contradictory opinions of what Scripture syays?

Yet we differ on such fundamental questions as what does it take for one to be saved. You simply can not paper over the massive fundamental differences between Catholics and Protestanst and among Protestants themsleves.

Why don’t you just be honest and say that you don’t want to answer the question?

2nd Adam;5882932:
That’s a tough one because we have different leaders. My leaders get their authority from the King of Kings
AMEN:thumbsup:
2nd Adam just said that our leaders are not of God… How can you say amen to that?

I understand you are trying hard to look like you are loving your neighbor, but before you go saying amen to everything that comes from 2nd Adam, you should really understand what is being said. Like in this case, to which you said amen to our leaders not getting their authority from the king of kings.

God bless

It is you that don’t understand sorry

You are generalizing. Here is something that I embrace. It’s called the Alliance of Confession Evangelicals. It is quite the mix of Lutherans, Baptists, Anglicans, and Presbyterians, Reformed, etc Christians… united on essential truths of the Christian Faith. So, within the body of Christ, there is great unity within Christendom.

What are you focused on the differences in the body of Christ?

snip…The only one who needs to admonish someone Is God. I do not teach our students to be judges of anyone but them selves thru God.
Clearly, you don’t even know the faith you espose and, you didn’t read and understand what I and others have been trying to say. Rather, you simply respond with emotion rather than intellect.

And my friend I can handle any environment you or others can dish out eith Gods help.
Ironically, you just made my point.

Glad I made your day:rolleyes: And clearly you don’t know my faith!

Well, if you look at my two Catholic links… maybe we agree more than you think. We are justified by faith according to Pope Benedict and the Catholic college professor.

hmm, definitly people get mis interpretations but shouldn’t we then pray to God for wisdom and understanding? Read for ourselves and look at the opposing views in light of scripture. See which interpretation lines up with the rest of scripture and then conclude it based upon alignment of other truths and God’s guidance?

I guess you could now say all denominations do this and get something different… but shouldn’t we take it to God ourselves and pray over it so that WE may interpret it the way He would have us? Instead of just believing or accepting a whole denomination has “the fullness of truth”. After all, Christianity is about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ… that;s the focal point.

Let me break it down for you:

2nd Adam said we have different leaders. He then said that his leaders get their authority from the king of kings which means, since we have “different leaders” our leaders do not get their authority from the king of kings. You anwsered this with an amen

You are right, maybe I don’t understand. So help me out. Did you not read what 2nd Adam wrote and just said amen just to say it and didn’t realize what you were agreeing with or did you really mean to say amen to the statement that Catholic leaders don’t get their authority from God? Which is it?

God bless

Once again I agree with you and I expect to get bashed but I keep reading Romans 8:28

Let’s put this in its proper perspective. Our ultimate leader and authority is God Himself, our Great Triune God. Within worshipping our Infinite Triune God, we are discussing how we know the will of God of this Infinite God. This is where we split… understanding our same Triune God whom He has spoken through His special revelation known as Sacred Scripture. So, our ultimate leader is the same, for there is only One True God.
