i Hi it’s my first time to join this forum and am quite keen to read the above subject(Catholic need to read their bible). Infact am a protestant and i have spend most of my life with the catholic friends whom i grew up with. I respected them so much and i often heard from them as we discuss openly with our religion is they said they lack the understanding of the scripture. Would this be a concern for the catholic church?Do you realize how condescending and arrogant you sound, even if that is not your intent? You posted the link to the Pope’s General Audience entitled “The Doctrine of Justification: from Works to Faith” and assume that 1) we don’t know what our own Pope (or Church, for that matter) has been saying about things all along and 2) that you, not being brought up Catholic and having far far less instruction in Catholic doctrine than any of us that you would understand it better than we do? (You don’t, by the way.)
All you’re going to do if you keep going in this direction is to offend a lot of people, along with giving them a slight chuckle when they read what you think the Pope is saying. You’re doing all of this while trying to give us pointers on how to better argue with Protestants?
