Roman Catholic Archbishop Paul S. Coakley and a priest performed “prayers of exorcism” to rid the Civic Center Music Hall of evil spirits that may have lingered after a satanic “black mass” was held there, The Oklahoman has learned.

Diane Clay, spokeswoman for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, said on Wednesday that Coakley decided to perform the ancient ritual in the Oklahoma City public venue after he learned that some Civic Center patrons were troubled and anxious about the possible diabolical after-effects of the Sept. 21 black mass. An exorcism is a ritual generally performed to cast out a demon from an individual.

“From the beginning, we have taken seriously the dark and dangerous spirits being invited into our community. We anticipated this would be a concern for those visiting the Civic Center, and we’ve received many questions about the safety of the building following the satanic ritual,” Coakley said in a statement.

This is very good news. Anytime diabolic forces are invoked we should be prepared to pray the prayers of exorcism over the place. I hope they used the older Rituale Romanum while they were doing it.
 
Yes, this is definitely very good news. I am happy that he did this. I wouldn’t doubt it if there were demonic spirits in the place after the evil and demonic “Black Mass”. Regardless of whether or not there were any, they are now gone.

Okay, I’ll bite: why would one form be either “better,” or more effective?
 
The older rite is far more effective against the devil. There are many reasons for this. In a nutshell, the new rite ***asks ***satan to leave whereas the old rite ***commands ***him to leave in Jesus’ name of course. There is a big difference. Politeness to the devil doesn’t work. Apparently when the revision of the rite was taking place, exorcists who were experienced in the field were either not consulted or else flatly ignored. Exorcism is extremely important and powerful and any watering down of it is gravely irresponsible. I wonder who those responsible for watering down the rite were actually serving as they certainly were not serving the people of God by their actions. In fact they were doing a grave disservice to the Church and the people.

May the Lord bless his Excellency, as this is the prescribed antidote for evil. Any spirits that attached to the civic center have been cast out.
 
I was confirmed into the Church by Archbishop Coakley. He’s been an example I’ve looked up to for a long time. Besides that, he truly is a marvelous Church leader.

I totally supported the effort to get the consecrated host back from the Satanic group. All the protesting after that was just giving the them the attention for which they were jockeying.

I am glad the Bishiop took care of the quietly and privately.
