If I am a temple of the Holy Spirit then I am called to use my gifts in service. If I am to give then I must first be fed. I am fed in the Eucharist and in His Word.
When I attend Mass, I hear the Word of God read from both the OT and the one of the Gospels daily. Every Sunday Mass also includes a reading from Paul. At times, I am the one who proclaims (it is not simply a matter of reading) the Word. In a spirit of ecumenism, many mainstream churches now follow the Roman calendar of readings. God is calling His people to be one in Him and with Him.
There is no “obligation” to attend daily Mass, simply a hunger to be with Him who died for our sins. There is also an understanding when this is not possible.
Yes, I carry Him with me where I go. I am read by my actions.
Attending Mass is only part of what it means to be a Catholic Christian. There must be a continual dying to self so that Christ more fully reveals Himself through me.
Each of us who has received the Sacraments has received the Holy Spirit.
Each of us is bound together within the Body of Christ.
