I really have a hard time thinking that Muslims believe in the same God as us. Their God has left Jesus out of him, and the way we came to know God is throughr Jesus, so I just don’t think their idea of God is the same as ours.

If it were not for Jesus and we just had the OT , I would think what a mean God we have , the way I felt when I first read the OT.

Just my opinion.
Sorry that’s the teaching of the Church.

Do the Jews believe in the same God as you? Their God also “has left Jesus out of Him”.

It is sometimes instructive to apply ideas about God and Islam to God and Judaism. It can give a different perspective.

Good point, but I don’t think Jews or Christians have any group that believes in suicide boomings and killing that Muslins do. Oh we have Chrisitans and Jews that commit crimes, but they don’t form into radical groups and kill and are full of hate for Christians and Jews and the US period, , we are not out after killing Muslins. Oh there are different Muslins they split into 2 main groups which have different beliefs, and there are good Muslins. But you can’t compare them to Jews.

Muslims acknowledge the Creator, but their understanding of the Creator is wrong. I believe that there are good and bad people from ALL backgrounds and nobody is perfect. I believe that those muslims who are peaceful, respectful, do good things, and seek God, will eventually be led to Him. God gave us the choice to make. If you do not know Jesus through no fault of your own, salvation might still be possible. If you reject Jesus willingly, there is no salvation.

Here is what we do know:
Islam rejects Jesus as being the Son of God. Islam rejects the Holy Trinity. Islam rejects that Jesus died on the Cross for our sins.

Again, muslims acknowledge the Creator, but their understanding of Him is wrong.

"Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me." John 14:6 Douay-Rheims Bible

Baruch Goldstein? Srebrenica? Muslims do not have a monopoly on violence and killing.

Some Muslims do bad things, other Muslims don’t. How does that affect the way we see the God they worship?

Some Christians do bad things, other Christians don’t. Does that affect the God Christians worship?

Some Jews do bad things, other Jews don’t. Does that affect the way we see the God they worship?

It has been known for a very long time that followers of the true God sometimes do bad things. Does that make Him any less the true God? No, it just mean that His followers are less than perfect. Just like the Christian God.

Well I don’t believe any Christian denomination believes its ok to kill in the name of our God, and form into groups to do it.

Muslims do not have a monopoly on violence and killing.

I never said they do, I said Christians and Jews all commit crimes. I also said not all Muslins are bad.

The God I adore doesn’t have “Hajj” as one of the “five pillars of faith”.

Sorry that’s the teaching of the Church.
You had better plan your pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia to bow before the big black box and praise and adore Allah. It’s obligated, before you die, by our “same god”.

And how does this affect whether or not Jews, Christians and Moslems worship the same God, albeit in their different ways?

Whether the book they follow allows for violence in the name of God.

Joshua 6:21 - “Then they utterly destroyed all in the city, both men and women, young and old, oxen, sheep, and asses, with the edge of the sword.”

Haven’t you ever read the Old Testament?

Jesus revealed the true nature of the Father.

You didn’t address the Koran.

Jesus revealed the true nature of the Father.
So, all that violence in the Old Testament has to be ignored then?
You didn’t address the Koran.
If we ignore all the violence in the Old Testament then it is only fair that we ignore all the violence in the Qur’an as well.

Both books contain violence, and both books have been used to justify violence. Again I ask, how does this relate to whether or not Jews, Christians and Muslims all worship the same God?
Or I could just become Buddhist.
Excellent idea, lessons start from $500.00 per hour. 🙂

Perhaps you should start reading the Gospels. The beatitudes are quite beautiful. 👍
