hi inchrist101;; this is entirely a hypothetical question… if say i were to go into the building you gather in to worship in,while you were not actively worshipping at the time, with a bunch of my old buddies partied our ourselves to the piont of illness, spilled everthing on the floor,in general just made a mess of the place. would you be upset with us? why?

I’m not sure what your point is fbl9. But let me say this. It is private property that is used to gather for Church. It’s also used for teaching school. It’s also used for meetings. Is it open to only members of our group?? No it’s open to anyone who wants to come and Worship GOD with us.

I sometimes think people want to classify a church as the physical building you go to when it isn’t. The building has nothing to do with it. It is GOD’s presence. And you’re right. I may attend a non-denominational church where I serve as a Deacon but I can guarantee you Jesus is with us and we are soooo with HIM. When I pass from this life I find it hard to believe my Saviour would turn his back on me.

It is not Jesus who will turn His back on us. It is us who may or may not turn our back on Him. It is not something that we do or choose after death or in eternity. It is something that we have already freely chosen in this life. Heaven begins now. So does hell.

When I read what you are saying about your view of faith and salvation, I am hearing it in somewhat contradictory terms.

From the moment of our Baptism and Confirmation, and the reception of the Holy Spirit of God, we may either continue on in Christ’s Body (The Church) and Live or we may reject Him and die. We are always free to choose between God’s will and Satan’s temptations.

There are countless souls who reject Christ in the Eucharist day in and day out. What will such a soul choose upon death, when brought to the realization of their countless rejections of Him during their life upon earth? Will such souls choose eternal life in Christ? Or will they choose the reality of their earthly rejections of Him?

All I know is that I don’t want to be the the pour soul with a choice to make now, but who has a fatal realization upon my earthly death. I prefer to choose Christ now, and in every way that He manifests Himself to me.

Jesus said that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He also said that I do not have “Life in me” if I do not eat His Flesh and drink His Blood. That is a very concrete truth.

I either have Him in me through the means provided by Christ, by the working of the Holy Spirit in His Body (The Church), or I don’t. This presence of Christ in me is accomplished most concretely and most visibly when I eat His Body and Drink His Blood in Holy Communion with His Church. It is accomplished less visibly when I reject sin and do the Will of His Father. The grace to do the Will of God depends upon the reception of Christ Himself. This truth is the beautiful mystery of of the Gospel being made manifest by the working of the Holy Spirit.

This is not something that I can truly claim for myself. It is something that only He can claim in us by seeing Himself in us. He sees Himself reflected in us through our faith, through our actions, and through the very fact of seeing Himself “in us”.

This is what it means to have Eternal Life. Heaven begins now.

You really should take a closer look at Acts before you keep denying the primacy of Peter:

Acts 15:7 And after there had been much debate, Peter rose and said to them, “Brethren, you know that in the early days **God made choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.” **

Luke, who was a companion of Paul by the way, is making it very explicit which person is in charge. And that person is Peter.

Agreed. I choose to accept Jesus. That makes me a part of HIS church.

Yes it’s disgusting isn’t it. 6 billion people in the world give or take. 2 Billion Christians. 66% of the world just isn’t getting it.

You’re speaking my heart here. Seriously. Isn’t Jesus AWESOME? Isn’t GOD AWESOME? You know the answer to that already. We are sinful and undeserving. Yet through GOD’s grace we have Jesus. And through Jesus we have eternal life. What a GIFT. What a GIFT. All GOD asks of us is to accept his son. What’s wrong with 66% of the world then??

I’m having trouble with the Heaven begins now but that’s OK. With Jesus on my side I can face anything in this world. Remember 1+GOD is always the majority.

I must have misrepresented my self if what you are asking me is if I believe that Peter was the head of the church 100%. Unless i am misunderstanding you. As far as to say that the devil is only here and there. I do believe that he is everywhere. God tells us that beware he is in my clothing. Now if you are asking me if he has control over us no. Thats up to us. We have free will. Remember God said he is the Master of deceit. If the devil wasnt everywhere we would never sin. Its THE DEVIL who finds our weakness . And when he does look out. Ask anyone with an addiction how the devil will really work you over. You know these kids that are on crack cocaine are finding out that even thru rehab its not working. It is through rehab AND JESUS CHRIST THAT THEY MAKE IT. that is how strong the devil can be. If you want to make the devil run just ask for Christ. He can beat us. but he cant beat Christ. But see if we run to Christ he will leave us alone.
