Yes, the domes are drier and more comfy but there’s something very appealing about old-school football played in challenging weather.

Sorry I don’t have a particularly interesting or profound story.

It’s not a creative misspelling of “signet.”

It’s just that I had to think of a username in a hurry and I knew I had to “sign it.”

I got a chuckle out of that. Thanks, I enjoyed that explanation very much. I actually thought it was ‘Signet‘ with a creative license, so I’m glad you clarified things for us.

Name: my name.

Profile/header/user card photos: I like hydrangeas.

screen name: sunbreak
In this part of the country, partly cloudy times (as opposed to usual rainy times during the winter months) are called sunbreaks

Sounds like a sunbreak is a positive brief period of sun during the rainy season, if I understand correctly.

I had incorrectly assumed that it was another name for dawn or sunset. I’m glad you clarified it for us.

How could an Orioles fan not be a Colts fan
Oh, but I was. Bert Jones was an outstanding quarterback whom I rank alongside Joe Ferguson as the forgotten stars among 1970’s Hall of Famers. However, the Cowboys and Raiders have always come first in my heart. Living far, far away in western Canada, I can be very selective. 😁

And to the Orioles, I have never cared for “Canada’s” teams in the big leagues. Upstarts…

Mud, blood, and beer
Here in Saskatchewan we add snow and, in November, minus 20 degree temperatures to that mix. I’ve only attended one pro football game in my life, back in 1996, and only then because I was given tickets by a supplier at work. Plenty of mud, plenty of icy cold wind, and lots of beer on the bus there. No blood but one unfortunate fan died in the stands during the half time show. It was a pretty bad show.

My wife and I drove to Natchez, Mississippi, a few years ago because I love Civil War era architecture and everything. To get there, we passed through parts of Louisiana (like Interstates 20 and 49) plus some smaller highways and was curious if we passed through Cajun country. Sounds like we didn’t.

We did eat at a self-described Cajun restaurant, though. My wife loves hot, spicy food and loved it. Me, not so much for spicy food but I loved the red beans & rice and got a kick out of the “Geaux Tigers” bumper sticker I saw from an LSU fan.

Following Sister Lucia of Fatima, Jesse Romero often says you are either on Team Jesus or Team Satan. Of course, to say you’re on Team Jesus you have to act like it, which is hard.

It sounds like we definitely know what side you are on, and your jersey number is #31.

You are on the winning team. 👍

We’re having an undefeated season that’s been going on for a long time now.

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you, but will mention this for the sake of others looking on.

The area known down there as Acadiana was named for the Acadians of the Canadian maritime provinces. Acadia was a distinctly seperate colony of New France in the early 1700’s. Nearly 12,000 of them were expelled by the British government as they were suspected of supporting the French side during the French and Indian War of that era. A large number, however, were recruited by the Spanish government and invited to resettle in Louisiana. The word “Cajun”, of course, is obvious as the mild corruption of the word “Acadian”. The original word is still very much known in Canada’s Atlantic provinces. Acadia University is a large and well known college in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.

Now a question for you, my friend. Is it true that the mosquitoes in the bayous are so big you can rope them like rodeo calves?

Great quotes from ‘Braveheart’.

My particular favourite is:

Magistrate: ‘The prisoner would like to say a word.’
William Wallace: ‘Freeeeedommm!’

My name is Mark and I live in the UK

My profile pic is a Rickenbacker bass. I’m a musician and I love the look of Ric basses

This is my first post, btw. Hello! 🙂

Hello Mark. Sounds like your name is pretty self-explanatory, and the guitar is beautiful. Hopefully it plays as nicely as it looks. Welcome to CAF!
