Changed my views on Homosexuality

In times prior to this I doubt that’s how it would’ve been interpreted. I think that it would’ve been more like, did you try to correct them where they went wrong and that is still how it is in every non-Western nation where Christianity is pre-dominant and scripture too.

You are right God will judge us and I will reiterate that it is possible to reject the behavior without rejecting the person. I not only say those words, I live them as well. Blessings to you.
 
I don’t know where these numbers are coming from but Russia is by far more Christian than any Western country today. The state supports the Church and the Church supports the state. The Russian state even gave much of the means of welfare entitlements over to the Church. You need to stop watching Fox News and look at more international media. Churches are packed throughout Russia, people are becoming baptized and no propaganda will change that.

The numbers are from Russia itself.
And only time will tell if they are true converts or not.
 
And He gave us His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Eucharist so that He can

I knew I was guilty of enlargening the scope of one note. I agreed that I went off course. I am confused (obviously), b/c one reads the text, think and hit the arrow to comment.

I know it happens. Whose that actor that flies and his home is in Fla w a plane in his driveway. His son JETT died from a seizure in Bahamas. His wife, (xPreston) is an actress. He’s gay. I’m having a senior moment. They have an agreement. Cole Porter married Linda and he was quietly gay. I feel there are Christian couples, staying faithful=overcomers in this situation. Do I love my gay family members, friends and patients=yes. God knows I love all.
Judgement is God’s. It is our place to discuss scripture w them in love. Their souls journey can be affected. The church needs educating in all scriptural teachings. We are striving for holiness.
I do have a subtle frustration w the state of our society. If you sense something in my writings, it’s not anger. Lord, guide us in your ways.

I’m lost in this thread. You may all laugh now! Seriously, how did Russia pop up and evaluations on how Christian it is? No answer needed.
Then, I read where some felt the OP was leaving Catholicism. So, Ieent back to check. Then, I couldn’t find the notes discussing his leaving the church.
Here’s the copy:
First off, I’m a former Catholic, Agnostic, Jew, then back to Catholicism and now back to Agnosticism. If that makes any sense 😉 I want to believe there is something bigger and better and that Love will transcend death, BUT I must say that even while I was a Catholic most thought of me as the “cafeteria” variety.
LORD, guide us to know your Truth, and administer it w love. Bringing in the hungry for You.

God very much cares. If you’re gay, He wants you to live celibately. If you’re agnostic, He would want you to know His divine love for you.

But the Church teaches the reality of hell — ignoring that fact because it makes you uncomfortable helps no one.

You’re bursting no one’s bubble here. But we would be saddened if you got carried away by false security and false teachings. (And the pope hasn’t denied hell, despite the media reports.)

Thorolfr is right to say that there is little evidence linking homosexual activity – as opposed to homosexual orientation – to mental illnesses. But there is plenty of evidence linking homosexual orientation to a variety of mental illnesses. This gives us at least two hypotheses:

(1) Homosexual orientation AND the mental illnesses gay people experience are both caused by a common root cause (perhaps a hormone imbalance in the womb). Note that this claim does not imply anything about morality, one way or the other, Thorolfr.

(2) The mental illnesses gay people experience are caused by cultural homophobia.

For all your denying it, Thorolfr, there is plenty of data that resists the second interpretation. “There is plenty of homophobia in the Netherlands” – sure, there is. But not as much as in other places. If you really think bullying and the like cause all these results, then you would expect a proportional difference that was pretty extreme between more and less “enlightened” places. That is not what you find, however.
 
He told us to live chastely. So in this particular situation, we know exactly what God wants.
 
The Church, inspired by the Holy Spirit (the third Divine Person of the Trinity), has taught in the past and continues to teach that same-sex behaviors are not condoned. Ergo, those with same-sex attractions are to live celibately (or get married to the opposite sex…the practicality of that is for the person to determine).
 
According to the Church, a fully human institution. Gotcha.
So, just to be clear, no actual god telling us anything… just some people who believe that a Holy Spirit inspires them, right?

I can’t remember, but are you agnostic/atheist?

If so, there’s no purpose in having this discussion. You don’t believe in God, let alone any higher power unless the higher power agrees with your understanding.

You know, I want to hear God, too. Like with my audible senses. By “hear”, I meant from a Catholic/Christian perspective that God, for whatever, chose to utilize (fallible) humans to transmit and disseminate His truth and laws. Maybe if Adam/Eve never sinned and we didn’t fall out of contact with God, we could “hear” in a more literal sense directly.
