If your only objection is to the term “LGBT,” you can replace “LGBT people” with “homosexual persons” (a term used in Catholic documents) and people who suffer from gender dysphoria. That would be fine with me
Yes… that’s my very strong objection…

The words “lesbian” and “gay” have been used to refer to female and male homosexuals for quite a long time, certainly for my entire lifetime and I’m almost 60. The word “gay” started to be used to refer to homosexual men as far back as the 1920s and 1930s, so almost a century ago.

Not in official Church Teachings … and you’re a young man…

60 is only young to someone who’s over 80. And I’ve been getting mail from AARP for almost a decade now. 🙂

Although I have had 30 year old checkers at the grocery store call me “young man” before. When that first happened, I thought, "Am I that old already that young people are starting to call me “young man.”

Well, Son…

The Catholic Church Magisterium - uses terms “homosexual persons”

And never that Alphabet - which ties in with Sexual Preferences / Behavior
and is very current with Homosexual persons and some (never all) others…

Morphologically - Physiologically – Man was Created: Male and Female…

And the term “homosexual” is also a relatively new word invented in the second half of the 19th century. It’s mostly a clinical term.

Bottom line…not really a gray area for Catholics. Homosexual people are to be accepted. The tendency is not a sin. Homosexual relationships and sexual activities are not acceptable in the church, nor gay marriage. They are deemed illicit and disordered.

All Catholics are called to chastity except within the context of a Catholic marriage between one man and one woman. If one is not called to Catholic marriage with one person of the opposite gender, they are then, as Catholics, called to chastity.

I go “love the sinner, let the Holy Spirit convict people of sin”.

Fair enough but understand, Catholics are not called to silence in matters of sin.

Certainly, for example, we are appropriate to.loudly contest abortion in the public arena, for example. It is not appropriate to publicly shame a neighbor who had an abortion, however. If she gets on TV like Michelle Williams on the Golden Globes to publicly brag about her abortion, well…criticism invited.

Some try to flip Catholic theology to silence Catholic voices by claiming we are wrong to object to or discuss the sins of others, which really just amounts to an effort to silence the teachings of the church

Correctamundo!

Active Homosexuality And Abortion - should be very clearly taught from every pulpit in the World - for reason that attempts to Silence and Coverup connects with Lies…

And no… We do not have to speak of other sins… when speaking of those.

And no. . We’re not being Judgemental and UnMerciful

And yes - We speak with Love … and Mercy as part of the Virtue that it is…

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts

Why is the term homosexual invariably associated with men by so many Christians?

The word’s etymology comes from Greek “homo”
Which goes back to PIE (Proto Indo European) Somo

Homo Sapiens… Sentient/Wise Man..

Church - Homosexual Persons
refers to persons - male or female - who are sexually attracted to persons of their gender

Church - Homosexual Sex - is a Sin…
