So where did you learn Arabic? One of my daughters has a sister-in-law who studied Arabic at BYU - she is now in accounting ( and no, I still don’t see the connection).
As near as I can tell, it is produced by “Sensus Fidelium”Can you please source this? Thank you!
Many Catholics and Catholic priests do not follow the charismatic movement. I personally do not either because several times I have been told by Catholics and protestants alike that if I don’t speak in tonques, something is missing in my Christianity and I should be able to speak in tonques and the problem is with me. I am not saying it doesn’t happen but like someone else said, I understand that it is a recognizable language that should be able to be understood. ?? Not sure.Sensus Fidelium”
at this website The line-up on the website appears to be highly anti-charismatic.
It is not Father Ripperger but Father Ripperger along with all the other priests heard on Sensus Fidelium are priests in good standing with the Catholic church. Many of the talks heard are homilies. It may be Fr. Ripperger who is the presenter.
Those that say that something is missing in your Christianity because you don’t speak in tongues are misguided. Not all gifts are distributed equally. There have been quotes from 1 Corinthians in this thread. Here is another from chapter 12 concerning spiritual gifts. Many Catholics and Catholic priests do not follow the charismatic movement. I personally do not either because several times I have been told by Catholics and protestants alike that if I don’t speak in tonques, something is missing in my Christianity and I should be able to speak in tonques and the problem is with me
Thank you for sharing your experience, otjm. It is becoming tedious to follow this thread, for it is impossible to have a dialogue with naysayers who oppose this particular gift due to their refusal to listen to the Church and the ministerium who approved the CCR. That includes the last three popes. And a week ago a friend of mine, not Catholic, had been to a series of meetings at one of the parishes in Portland. Toward the end, she heard one of the priests praying over another, and then her, in tongues. It is a gift; not everyone gets it, and those that do in my experience are really on fire for the Lord.
And so are others who do not appear to have the gift - though they have other gifts.
In my horror, I noticed that I mistakenly “liked” poche’s post! I misread his words completely! Please note that poche said it was a Pentecostal preacher on TV. Totally irrelevant to the Catholic Church.
I have no idea what you mean. What has this to do with my post that you referenced?Falling forward means you worship god. Falling backwards is rejection by god.
