If you want to seize upon every general statement as lacking precision and exhaustive citations with footnotes, well I ask that you found your own forum with those requirements.

For those of us who work within a context of polite dialogue…
 
actually the so called love is turn to lust.so they can exchange easily their god.anyway in this way few christians convert to islam.but actually in my country bangladesh i know the horrible birth rate of muslims.in a village 1 man earn 1$ per day who take the burden of 7/8 ppl.they can’t eat but don’t stop high birth rate cuz family planing was forbidden in islam.but now religious leaders are editing the islamic law!

Why don’t you move here to the U.S. or Canada? Lots of Arabs (Christians and Muslims both) live here now. They enjoy it, and we’re all happy to have them. In the U.S. nobody cares about religion. In Canada they care a little bit more but if you say you’re a Catholic you won’t have any trouble.

You seem like a nice guy. If the locals don’t want you, we’re still taking applicants. 😃
 
mr.lamar i am trying to leave my country forever.it will take a few years.i have some problem now.but truely i will leave this country.150million ppl here but christian are less than half million.so a secret converted christian isn’t save here.but i am afraid if the arabs will win west by their high birth rate then where converted christian will go?and remember almost every muslim ppl want to kill them who leave islam.thanks

essentially, he’s saying that by turning its back on its religious heritage, the west, particularly europe, is cutting itself off from the source of rationality that underwrote the enlightenment and its achievements, consequently leaving the west ill-equipped to deal with the moral challenges it confronts in an era of fast-paced technological and social change and widespread moral relativism.

With all this talk of Europe, I think some of us may be overlooking the rest of the world. It is sad to see a once passionately Christian continent gradually losing its faith, but while re evanglizing Europe, Asia and Africa are in need of Evangelization as well. I think eventually, the Chinese government will ease restricitons on religion, and this should provide the means to evangelize East Asia where most of the world’s population is located. I just hope that Europe comes to it wits, and reclaims its Christian tradition.

I see the emergence of Islam as a good thing for Europe and the world for the following reasons:

Islam has a strong tradition of tolerance and justice, which Christianity never had and never will have.

If there has to be religion, then we have a choice. In 1000 years, Muslims will be piloting starships to the edge of the galaxy, and the lifespan for humans might be 300 years. On the other hand, Christians will be living in sewers, unable to feed themselves, seeing things like stem-cells and high velocity physics as tools of Satan. No hard feelings Christians, but I know which side I’m on.

I was just saying the equivalent of ‘what one would expect, really’. ‘To each his own’ is a very apposite way of putting it, it’s either ‘terribly profound’ or ‘completely trite’ depending on how you look at it.

i found the book profound, or at least thoughtful and well-considered. just my opinion.

yes, i suppose you have to have a certain kind of open-mindedness to read and appreciate a book about the timeless value of traditional wisdom.
