There is a verse in the Old Testament, probably Psalms, but it says this. The eyes of the maidservant are on the hands of her mistress. Did you hear that? The eyes of the maidservant are on the hands of her master. What does that mean? I had to ask myself this. As I pondered the truth behind this, I realized that the maidservants eyes are constantly on the hands of her master, to watch every move, every gesture. Why? To see everything, to be totally obedient, to wait, but be ever vigilant, ready to move when her master sees fit. Now, let’s replace that with these changes Our eyes are on the hands of our Lord! We are waiting, watching to see where He is leading. We are not slack, we are ever vigilent! We are praying, seeking wisdom, guidance, direction, never looking away. We wait until God tells us exactly what to do. We don’t jump ahead of what He is telling us what to do. That is where you and all people involved in any situation need to be doing, myself included.
Example: I needed to get a dentist when we moved to a new town. Someone recommended one, but there was a check in my spirit, not this one. Out of just wanting one, I went ahead and went with this one. Everytime we went to the dentist, we walked out with at least $700 worth of work that needed to be done. So, we were spending about $2800 every year on dental work. I finally asked someone else for their recommendation. We had a quote for another!! $700 worth of work to be done. We went to the other dentist, he asked if it hurt, it didn’t, so he said, just leave it alone. Needless to say, we stayed with him until he moved off. If I would have listened to the Lord the first time, our teeth would be in much better shape

So, God had been telling me to get my children into karate, but wait for the right teacher. I finally!! did that. It took a couple of years, but when it worked out and God said that this was the right one, well, he has been! He is Catholic, prays aloud during lessons, and he works not just on karate, but my children’s listening skills, helps with my son who was getting beat up in school, he has a place for the children to do schoolwork while other siblings are taking classes, and it gets all of us away from the front of the tv. This one teacher has been such!! a blessing - I can’t say enough good things about him. But, I had to wait, which was so hard.
So, where I am going with this, is that if you go to a counselor, and you don’t have a good feeling, start praying for the right one. Pray for the best of the blest counselor possible! God will answer your prayers.
Pray for your counselor before your sessions, that God will tell them what to say to both of you that you need to hear. Ask the Holy Spirit to let your spouses hear what God wants them to hear. I pray this way also before I go to Confession, I pray for the priest. I have had some amazing answers to questions that I didn’t even bring up to the priest!
Every day, study the readings for the daily Mass so that God can speak to you in another way. I even started reading the Liturgy of the Hours. I felt like God was literally sitting in front of me, leading me through my grief and healing process after I lost my son. It was such a time of blessing for me.
Lastly, one of the things that God taught me years ago, is that God knows our hearts, our intent, what we are really thinking. He loves us as we are. You still are His beloved, His beautiful brides. He is calling you to spend more time with Him. On Judgement Day, I used to think that others would be able to stand next to God and whisper in His ear my faults, but that isn’t the case. Only He will judge us, we, His dear children

So remain hopeful and confident of His love, no matter how others treat you.
God bless you both and your lovely little ones.
You are in my prayers
