hola Love31,

my heart and prayers go out to you, i am so sorry you are experiencing this. please talk to your priest (if you have not already) with your husband about everything, if he continues i think you need to consider the idea that he never intended to remain faithful and that this marriage was not a sacrament… a priest is the best person to talk to about this possibility as well… so now is the time to bring the full weight of the Church down on him…

this happened to me with my boyfriend in high school (now he is my husband), it was humiliating, painful and put me into a deep depression… but i learned that he had many issues that lead him to the wreckless lifestyle he adopted, and with the help of his Church and psychological help and me he let go of all of it… now he is the one who is hurt and humiliated by what happened and it is hard for him to understand i forgave him…

so there is always hope…

Dominus Vobiscum

Love31,

Its time for him to make the decision to love you, and only you. Give him a deadline, her or me. His trying to “decide” is unfair to you whom he made a VOW to. He will string you along as long as he can because he can have both his wife and his girlfriend. You are a child of God and should be treated with love and respect. The behavior he is exhibiting shows no respect for you (loads for her, none for you).

I know what you’re going through, it happened to me too. The day I found out I told him it was her or me, decide now. Its a risk because he might choose her, but don’t you want to be chosen? Don’t you deserve to be chosen? Do you want a marriage where your spouse doesn’t choose you? What kind of marriage is that? Show him you respect yourself and marriage and you won’t play this game (and that’s what it is, a game) with him.

If he leaves then you can move on and have a life without being subject to a man who doesn’t care about your feelings. If he comes back then you have a chance at rebuilding your marriage. Either way he learns that you are not just an object, but a real person and he’s not the only one with “decisions” to make.

I know its hard, I know its a risk. But how long can you do this six months, a year, five years? Pray before you confront him. Pray that he will be open to God’s will. Lean on Jesus, trust Him to get you through all this. You are still in my prayers.

I know I have to give him a deadline…I’m just not sure how much time. 2 weeks 3 weeks 3 days…I don’t want to live this way much longer. I just can’t and your right …Do I really want him back. I love him and I think I really want him back but I’ m not sure that he can really be what I want. I’m not sure he can really make me happy after all of this. I’m scared that I won’t be able to live with a man that put me thru so much pain. He knows this. He said he can’t look me in the face and he knows that the hurt he sees in me is caused by him and he can’t seem to forgive himself. I know thats why he hasn’t come home. He doesn’t want to face the family he doesn’t want to face me and the pain he has caused. Its just easier for him to stay with her because he doesn’t have to deal with anything there. He doesn’t want to be alone because his guilty mind attacks him. He still says he wants to come home and he just prays that when he does that I will still want him. I see him scared too. I talked to him yesterday and he was so emotional. I have never seem him cry so much. I know he’s hurting but so am I. He said that he won’t come home until he can do what he says and be true to me. He said that he doesn’t know how much time he needs but he says that he’s praying and he said something has got to happen to snap me out of this. He said I can’t control my emotions. Everything seems so twisted. He doubts himself he’s not sure he can fix this. I want to fix it but can I …he said I can’t even talk to you right now without all this emotion. He said that he prays for God’s will to be done. I think that I will only give him till the end of lent. I will continue to fast and go to adoration. I will be gone for a week for my job and I’ll be alone so that I can really think…I need to figure out what I really want. If he’s doubting himself how can I have hope that he will change. I pray the he calls me and says please I need help take me to a rehab center. I already have all the information and driving directions. He just needs to want to. I sometimes feel that he tries to get off the drug and thats when his emotions are all out of wack. But I would also like to think that he’s so emotional because the Lord is touching his heart and that he is truly sorry for what he has done, and just needs to figure out that we are actully here for him and not against him. I think he feels that he is alone. I trust you Lord and may Your will be done. Please pray that the Lords light may shine so bright that it open his eyes. Lord help me to pull him out from the edge of hell. I can’t do this alone I need you Lord. Carry me thru this…You speak for me…may it be you he sees when he talks to me may it be you he feels in his emotions. I REBUKE SATAN AND ALL HIS DEMONS!!! BY THE GRACE OF GOD I COMMAND THAT YOU LEAVE OUR SITE!!!

love31 … all i can say is that

"he has to want it more than anything else in the world"

thats the only way this marriage can survive… right now… he is prioritizing everything else… that shows you that he really doesnt care enough!!!

i am sorry my dear, but you have to make a decision… i know the torture that u r going through right now as i went through the exact same thing 6 months ago… but ultimately, remember that it takes 2 to tango !!! and God willing, you will find someone else who will keep you first place in his life…

Let Go and Let GOD!!!

Trust HIM to take care of you…

I’m praying for you! I have no idea what you are going through, I couldn’t see myself puting up with this especially if after he left home he has been seeing her so much. I will offer my Mass intentions for you!

Love31, can you really see yourself as having a life-long loving, happy marriage with this guy if he does come back?

I’ll be blunt, the guy’s a turd. He doesn’t deserve you. His squeeze doesn’t even deserve him. Change the locks now and get it over with. Start on your new life.

God bless you.

although i do believe that you should do everything you can to save the marriage, the bible also says that if the unbeliever leaves, let him… and remember just becos he says that he is a christian, he is not!!! as his actions show that he cares more for that woman than for the word of God…

take the decision and allow yourself time to heal… there is light at the end of the tunnel like i have found out and you only need Jesus to have joy in your life…

I’m sorry but nobody is a “turd.” Even if they behave horribly, they are still children of God.

He called me last night and asked if I would go to dinner with him today so we could talk…but he did say “Lets not talk to seriously”. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN…he wants to talk about the weather. I have a feeling he’ll find an excuse not to take me. But the feeling in the pit of my stomach is saying that I need to move on. I really prayed last night and the Lord tells me that there is a right time for everything. I think the right time has come for me to move on. Just when I get the courgage to do this. Something always makes me change my mind. I see a change or the Lord tells me to wait. But is it really the Lord telling me to wait or is it my broken heart hoping that he will change. Friends I need your prayers…for guidance and strength to do what the Lord is asking me. For me to keep my mind open and if God tells me to leave that I know it’s God and if He tells me to stay that I may know its God too. I’m so afraid…

I will pray for you at Adoration when I go tomorrow night, Love31.
I know how hard this is. I have been there. Try not to think too much about the situation and instead concentrate on doing God’s will in every little aspect of your life. Meditate on Christ’s passion when you find yourself dwelling on whether you should have him back or give up. Try not to work all this out now when you are so emotional and everything is still so raw. Think on God, not your husband (I know easier said than done) and all your answers will come in God’s time.
God bless you

I offered my Mass intentions for you yesterday. Today is the feast of St. Benedict and I will offer my Mass intentions for you again today.

I am not going to beat around the bush with you. You have some decisions to make nobody can tell you what to do all we can do is advise you. I have prayed about this situation so much as I know the feelings and emotions that you are going through right now. And some days are very good and some days are like this knife that is cutting into your flesh and you wish that you can pull it out because it hurts so much. But with time it does get better. What I am going to say to you now you might not want to hear right now. Your husband is keeping his options open. In a sense that if things do not work out with this women he can always come back to you because you will be waiting for him. If he really wanted to sort things out why did he go and stay with her why did he not find alternate accommodation somewhere else. And why is he still coming to tell you what is going on and why are you still entertaining him by listening to all this. I told you before the less you know the better. If you guys ever decide to try and work things out you don’t need to be reminded by what he did in the past because it will only tear both of you apart.

He needs to grow up and start acting like a married man that has responsibilities to his wife and child and not acting like a young man who has no responsibilities. And those tears are just a tactic for you to feel sorry for him. You are not his mother you are his wife who should you be understanding and understand what he is going through right now. If the shoe was on the other foot and you were the one doing what he is doing you would be labelled a B@tch.Sorry to say it like that. STOP centering your whole life around him. I know that it is easier said than done. Concentrate on you and your daughter for a change. Sometimes the best thing to do is let go. If you guys are ment to be together then you will.

It hurts so much to hear the pain that you are in right now. It reminds me of how I was in 2005 into 2006. I felt like my whole world was falling apart how was I going to survive without him what about my kids how are they going to manage. And I look back today and say maybe I am better off. God has a plan for me am not sure what it is yet but he has another plan for me. And maybe he has a plan for you. There is so much a person can take. God’s plan is not for us to suffer. All I can say it pray for your husband pray that he finds his way. But he must stop playing with your feelings and emotions. There has to be a limit to how much a person can tolerate.

Pray to God for guidance, pray to him for direction, pray for your husband and pray for that women, pray to God to help you during this time, pray to him to heal you emotionally and physically. Pray every second and every chance you get. You will see a difference I promise you. That is where I am at now I put everything to God. Everytime I do something I pray about it. I remember that I used to hate going to the Mall because I would be reminded of the places we went to eat the shops we used to go to etc. Then somebody said to me ask God to go with you, ask him to walk with you. And now that is what I do. I listen to music, I watch TBN, I read the Bible and I put all my time and energy into God instead of worrying about my husband, the 19 year old, the baby they share, the fact that he is living with her and we are not even divorced yet. It is not important anymore. Because one day my soon to be ex is going to realise what he is lost and my door is no longer open to him. For too long I left that door open. Everytime he hit me I forgave him, everytime he cheated I forgave him, everytime he left me and came back I forgave him. Always thinking that I was doing the right thing for the kids sake, to not be alone etc. I also felt that the church would look down on me for been divorced. But the church did abandoned me when I needed them the most. But I have put all my faith into God and thanking him and praising him and having faith in him.

Get out of this black hole that you are in. There is hope for you. Try something different if you have faith, hope and belief. A suggestion tell you husband that you are moving on with your life. You are not going to do this to yourself anymore or to your child. He must just carry on with his life and when he decides where you fit in his life he knows how to reach you. In the mean time you are not going to wait for him. You love him and you made a committment to him but you are not prepared to put your life on hold for him anymore until he decides whether he wants you or this women. Be strong I tell you once your husband sees a difference in you he will have something to think about. Tell him your putting everything in Gods hands. I am not saying walk away from you marriage I am saying put YOU first. YOU are the most important thing right now because you need to be strong for yourself and your daughters sake. Your husband is not a child he is a grown man. And he needs to make decisions but he needs to make those decisions on his own without any pressure from you.

We talked yesterday and I told him that I was moving on. I told him that he moved on the day he started staying with her. I said its not fair for me to wait while your having another life with her. If you can move on then so should I. He said please don’t give up on me please. I told him I haven’t seen you do anything to make me think that you really want a life with me. Yes, you tell me but I need to see some kind of action. And you can’t seem to do this. I told him I was going to tell our daughter because I was afraid that maybe she would see them in town together or maybe kids at school could also say something. I told him how do I answer the question Mama who is that lady with Dad over there? He said… nothing! He just kept saying…you can’t give up on me yet please. I told him I realize your scared and I know that we have a lot to deal with…but I need to see something that is going to give me some kind of hope for our future and I haven’t seen it. I told him we needed to talk and I said serious talking…if you want to work thinks out. I’m not sure you want to… I told him I felt like he was on the edge of a cliff and I was at the bottom just waiting for him to jump. Worried that he might hit the ground. I told him JUMP have faith that the Lord will catch you. I said JUMP! JUMP! please JUMP!! The Lord will help me catch you and you won’t hit the ground. Please let go and Jump PLEASE! HAVE FAITH !!! I told him I had to go and I hung up. We talked again last night and he said that he just wanted me to know that he wasn’t going to be staying with her anymore. He said I know we can’t work things out with me there. He said I need to know what it’s like to be alone he said I think I need to suffer a little and think alone. He said he would be staying at either the shop or his friends house. I told him that he didn’t have to stay at the shop I told him stay with your sister. He said I guess I could do that too. I told him these are the things I need to see. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Lord carry us…Guide us…

I have gone throught the thread and you mentioned that you spoke with your therapist. I did’t find anything that said you were both in family therapy or that your husband was in an addiction recovery program. You need to be in family therapy because this is not about you, it is about the family. Find a good family therapist and take everyone. See if the diocese offers any assistance with this.
See a divorce lawyer immediately as well. You need to be free of further threat. Your husband apparently lacks the maturity to contract a sacramental marriage, so you might consider consulting a canon lawyer about initiating annulment proceedings.
Remember the Catholic dictum that says that grace builds upon nature. Unless we are doing the right things in the natural order, grace has very limited scope for entering the process.

I know that you are suffering and my heart goes out to you along with my prayers…however…I want to be truthful with you.
Stop mothering this infantile man and mother your child. Begin by keeping this sin and disgusting behavior as far away from you and your child as possible.
There is too much drama going on…adultery is a grave sin with** serious **consequences …this is the **reality **of your situation and draging it out is only causing confusion and distracting you from what is really taking place.
If this man cares a hoot about you, his child or has any respect for women he will quit this garbage… pronto. It is his responsibility to seek out help and to turn to God because he is the one doing grave wrong.
What a shame that your child is not only exposed to this ( you are distracted because of your hurt ) **but it may influence their life in a shameful and lasting way. **
See your parish priest and refuse to have anything to do with this immature man until there are serious changes in his disgusting behavior, he gains **insights into his self centerness **and he is right with God, you, his child and the Church.
Do what is right and right is what God said about this kind of behavior…"**Thou shall not commit adultery"! **God commands this because this is distructive behavior and causes broken dreams and broken lives. Your husband is doing serious wrong…not only against you but against his child and against Gods law and he needs to be taken to task for this before he loses his soul. Anything less is babble on his part… excuses and looking for an easy way out. There is none!!
Stand up for what is right.
Do not allow your feelings ( as valid as they are) to win the day. Think…think…think and get cross about his behavior and the harm that he has done…is doing and may well continue to do **without seriou change in his personality **and sincere remorse for his sin. Time for this fellow to grow up and to begin acting like the man, husband and father that he promised God he would be on your wedding day.

I have had a rough few days. Today I feel like my whole world has just been shattered. We had it at again on Sunday and then yesterday. Yesterday was painful he said some very hurtful things to me things he has never said before. He told me he wished he could love me like he loves her. He told me he wants the life we build together but was afraid that he couldn’t love me that way. He said I do love you but not that way and then he would scream WHATS WRONG WITH ME!!! WHY CAN"T I DO THIS!!! and then he would flip and yell at me to leave him to go and be happy without him…that if I didn’t leave that he would kill himself. As I was leaving he’s screaming PLEASE DON’T LEAVE ME!!!. Oh it was aweful. I feel so sad today. Then to top things off she calls me. Can you believe that she calls me yesterday to tell me to tell my husband to leave her alone or she will get a restraining order. Apparently he thru a fit at her house and broke a lot of her things. I didn’t know it was her calling. I didn’t recognize the number… I thought it was one of my nephews. He was furious that she called me and while I was on the phone with her he tries to call me and I didn’t answer and then tried to call her and she didn’t answer. Oh furious he was! I went to look for him and thats when we had it out. He was crying, screaming and you could see the anger in him. He said he has lost everything. He said I have no friends, I can’t go to my family, I really fxxxed things up with you and now I messed things up with her. I hate her I hate you I hate everyone. I quit my job. I’M ALL ALONE. I told him let me take you to get help. I said it doesn’t mean that you have to end up with me I just want to help you I said what do you have to loose. And for about 3 seconds I could see him thinking about it. He said what could they possible do or say to fix me. I don’t know if I should feel sorry for him. I’m afraid that he’s just messing with my mind but I really felt him when he was screaming and crying. I do feel sorry for him. I know its crazy and stupid but I still love him. And I still pray that someday my family will be restored. I need a lot of prayers friends PLEASE keep my family in you thoughts. I know nothing else but to pray. I feel so lost. And I hurt so bad beacuse my husband loves another women this pain is horrible.

I leave on a business trip tomorrow and won’t be back until Sunday. I’m going alone…hopfully I can pray and get some kind of answers some kind of plan for me. I’m looking forward to being alone and away from everyone. I need some peace. Keep praying please.

based on what you are saying… your husband is suffering from bipolar disorder… thats where you say “i hate you dont leave me!!”

honestly, i think this is God’s way of letting you know that it is time to let go… he has clearly said that he can never love you the way he loves her… what else do you want to hear from him? that he hates you…???

i dont know if you have children… if you dont, then i guess you can continue with this childish behaviour but if you do, then i would say it is high time that you grow up and understand what he is doing to you and your kids… your kids are just going to grow up thinking this is what is normal… do not allow that to happen…

God cannot come down and make you leave him and move on with your life… all HE can do is send signs and people into your lives who will tell you what is right and what is wrong…

it is not your fault that he has lost everything!!! It is through his own doing becos he decided to leave God’s way and went his own… just like only he can get himself out of this mess, you are the only one that can get herself out of this!!! you are being just as immature and childish about this as he is…

i am sorry if i hurt your feelings with this post of mine but honestly, sometimes being a friend and being a wellwisher means that you have to say some very harsh things!!!

when i went through the same thing, my friends told me some pretty truthful things which felt harsh at that time but it took those words to snap me out of it and they are now my closest friends…

May God guide you my friend!!!

I think it would be correct to assume that he is a danger to himself and others right now, and by others, I definitely mean you and your child. No matter how confused and in pain you are right now, and perhaps unable to take your own safety into account, your obligation to protect your child (and thus yourself, since you are the only functional parent and protector the child has right now) is clear. It’s time to stop listening to his ravings – yes, he does need help, and quite possibly hospitalization – but communicating with him at this time without a qualified third party (counselor, priest, attorney, etc) present would likely cause further harm to you, your child, and possibly him as well. Please do not delay making whatever changes you need to make; the crisis point is already upon you.

My sincere best wishes, to all three of you.
