Read my previous post, you are maintaining your wisdom over all of us. What can we say?

As for this post of yours, I’ve already asked for sources about Catholics leaving the Church, but you still don’t provide any but keep saying the same thing, over and over. What is your purpose here? Are you just trying to bash Catholicism? Are you just posting the same things to try and get a rise out of us?

If you don’t believe more Roman Catholics leave for Protestant communities, just ask an official from Catholic Answers. What do you think the motive was for ECT 1 and ECT II by those who signed from Rome? Why do you ask Mary to interecede for you when the Scriptures reveal that Jesus and the Spirit intercedes for the believer?

26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. Yes some do, like some Protestants join the Catholic Church.

I guess you are unwilling to ask Catholic Answers to verify that more Catholics leave Rome for Protestant Communities than the other way around. I read that fact in a book about Protestants who become Roman Catholics. I still don’t understand why many Roman Catholics rather go through Mary than Jesus Christ for intecessory prayer. I also notice that many Roman Catholics rather go through a Catholic Saint than through Jesus Christ for intercessory prayer. And you have consistently proclaimed the Roman Catholic institution as compared to Jesus Christ. Please think for a second, why do you consider yourself to be Catholic first, and Christian second? :confused: What we are battling over is our religious affections. Why don’t you ever talk about the person and work of Jesus Christ my friend?

Do you see what I mean? You speak more about Mary and the Catholic Church than Jesus Christ. I cannnot remember a single post on this site or the other Catholic site when you wrote about the person and work of Jesus Christ. Your postings are very typical for most Roman Catholics. I’m just pointing you to the living Christ revealed in the Bible. Why would I want a hail Mary prayer on my behalf when Jesus Christ is interceding for me. 🙂

Your attempts to proselytize me are wasted. I would never leave the one true Holy Catholic Church created by Christ Himself. Within the Catholic Church is the fullness of truth which is Christ Himself. I wouldn’t settle for anything less.

I’m almost scared to pray to the Saint who I favor for you to understand Catholicism and not misrepresent it, Reformed, because this Saint has ALWAYS prayed for me. I don’t know why he prays so much for me, though I know all the Saints I ask pray for me, nor why Jesus loves him so much, nor my guardian angel who has heard my prayers. But, personally, I wont post that prayer to The Saint Who Loves Me or the prayer I am going to say to the Sacred Heart…and The Holy Family that you’ll be more charitable.

Now, by percentages, the percentage of Catholics who become Protestant is lower than the other way around. Why? Becuse there are more Catholics.

A bigger issue with Catholics are Catholics who simple do not practice. These are the most likely to leave the faith. After all, they have already left.

And they know it is not found in the non-Catholic arena. Some even “hold-out” and try other non-Catholic faith communities before understanding that Christ only founded one Church.

Witness the real comparison… clergy. They are , supposedly, more in tune with Scripture. There are about 45,000 clergy in the Catholic Church in this country alone. How many jump ship? A few perhaps, because we are all human, and vulnerable. But we need only look to the Coming Home Network to see the nearly 1000 Protestant Ministers who have crossed the Tiber in the last decade or less.

Rather telling.

Just a point of clarification, doesn’t 1 Timothy 1:20 teach that our church leaders have the authority “deliver to Satan” our souls?

The short answer is I believe not. I believe Paul is is referring to excommunication in 1 Tim 1:20. Here, Paul is clearly doing this so “that they may learn not to blaspheme.” This is exactly my understanding of Excommunication as it is used as tough medicine with the intention to pressure the person into changing their behavior or statements, repent and return to full communion. If you desire to discuss further, this is probably a topic for another thread.

Please help me understand why most Roman Catholics go through Mary and Roman Catholics saints to approach the throne of grace. Scripture states otherwise. Because of what Christ has done on our behalf, we can come to the throne of grace with boldness and confidence through Him alone. Remember, Christ is superior to the Roman Catholic saints and Mary because Jesus is God. I think Justin would make a similar point that I made above. Justin would share that Christ alone is our mediator as we make our request before God. I am trying to speak the truth in love, as the charitable act. Can you supply biblical references that would guide Christians to pray through Mary and the Saints as compared to Jesus Christ as our mediator?

Because Scripture reveals that Jesus and the Spirit of God intercedes for us. Don’t you think the 2nd and the 3rd person of the godhead is superior than Mary?

This post illustrates our differences of Christianity. Biblical Christians believe that Scripture reveals to us what we believe about God, and how to relate to Him…understanding His will to the praise of His glorious grace. Christ is superior and sufficient for all who will believe in His Holy Bible. God has spoken through the Scriptures. Christ died for the Christian and not Mary, so that we can grow in understanding of the unsearchable riches in Christ! In all respect, the unsearchable riches are found in Christ and not Mary. BTW… I love and honor the biblical Mary and the biblical Apostle Peter.

Thank you for confirming the verifiable fact that more Catholics leave Rome to a Protestant community than the other way around. We just disagree on the reason of that truth. Just ask Justin on his blog 🙂 and he will tell you why he left Roman Catholicism. What he believes and proclaim is what I proclaim too.

The windl blows… and so does the Spirit of God (John 3). 🙂 I am not anti-Catholic but pro Jesus Christ. 🙂 Jesus Christ is sufficient and superior. The unsearchable riches are found in Christ alone.
