So are you saying she was a modern “Jeanne d’Arc”?Well, I DO see grave inconsistencies there, and as I say I would love to hold a rational conversation about it, free from emotional attacks and others trying to attribute words to me which I have never said, nor implied.
Priesthood is a specific call to service, and we do hope that those who seek it are responding to a call to serve in a ministerial-priestly way and not lusting after power. I suppose when it comes down to it, there are women who sense an interior call to serve the Church by being sacramentally more configured to the image of Christ, to celebrate the Eucharist as priest, to offer the absolution of Christ to penitents, to administer the Sacraments to the sick and bring healing comfort in their last hours, to proclaim the Gospel at mass and to preach, etc. Basically, to be “stewards of the treasury of the Church and its mysteries.”
In the case of the woman who passed, she sensed a call to this service, and this service was validated by a community of faithful, just not the RCC. How painful and ironic it must have been for her to live most authentically, and yet separated from the Church and traditions that she probably loved. The Holy Spirit was probably speaking to the world through her in this capacity, yet in a very real sense the Church “aborted” her priestly vocation, as it has countless others, including a Doctor of the Church.
How similar it is for us to pray “send us children, but they have to be healthy, and look like us, and arrive on our schedule, and, and…” and also “send us priests, but they have to be male, and be unmarried, and be straight, and be psychologically perfect, and be capable of getting a Master’s degree, and, and…”! I think our “culture of death” has extended to not only procreation but to Church vocations and we are too stubborn to realize it or admit it.
There’s a stretch. Supposedly, thieves are being “authentic” when they revel in their thievery. How painful and ironic it must have been for her to live most authentically, . . .
Pope John Paul the Great spoke infallibly on this subject. It is not POSSIBLE to ordain women.Period.End of discussion.Rome speaks-we obey. The Catholic Church is NOT a democracy and subject to changes in fashion. She is Divine and Eternal and as the Pope INFALLIBLY stated we do not have the authority to ordain females.Period.Why do people keep making this non-arguement-you might as well say the sky is pink.It doesn’t and will not change things. As Catholics we are called to humility and obedience. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the way you “feel”.Well, I DO see grave inconsistencies there, and as I say I would love to hold a rational conversation about it, free from emotional attacks and others trying to attribute words to me which I have never said, nor implied.

This is the best I have heard on the topic.
Jesus gave Peter an instruction to ‘look after’ His sheep and lambs. The purpose of the Church is not to make everyone “feel good”, its not to make everyone feel like they are not left out-its to lead us to salvation. .
Yes, ‘God’ decides and all callings are subjective to the individuals. God calls people to many things in many ways and all things to all people are not listed, even the Bible tells us that.God decides what our calling will be and He does so out of love. Women are not called to be priests. I know you don’t like this but it is true. This is Church teaching and Jesus said the gates of hell shall not prevail against His Church. Jesus did not lie, even if it would make you feel better about yourself if He had.
.
The Pope doesn’t speak for the Cof E,nor should you presume to speak for us.The Successor of Peter the Servant of the Servants of God the late Great Pope John Paul II has spoken infallibly on the subject and the answer is NO to the ordination of women.Period.End of discussion.I think you have more than a few problems within your own Eclaisial Body to be concerned with.Yes, ‘God’ decides and all callings are subjective to the individuals. As I said, becareful of the well you drink from, it is Jesus who is the living waters. Jesus put Peter firmly behind Him.
Jesus is love :grouphug:
He is Spirit.
The Holy Spirit works through any vessels of His choosing, male or female.
Jesus looks at women through God’s eyes.
Man looks at women through the eyes of men.
God is love :grouphug:
Even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. (Acts 2:18)
Thanks for that:thumbsup:This is the best I have heard on the topic.
On that premise, one could say that it’s the image of ‘liturgical homosexuality’ now, because the priest is standing in Christ’s image. Which would be a nonsense.Kimmie,
Yes, the woman was a practicing lesbian, but that’s beside the point. My response was to the notion that any woman who would celebrate Mass “in persona Christi” is an image of “liturgical lesbianism” - that somehow the priest cannot be a woman because women can only image brides, and there would be a bride-bride marital relationship somehow in the mass.
If the church teaches Trinitarian, then it shouldn’t practice quartet, because the Holy Spirit has no sex and has the power to work through anyone in anyway what so ever, regardless of whether they are male or female. To think otherwise would be to limit God’s work. So, tell me, are you questioning the Trinity too? I mean, IT is a mystery. So surely you’re wondering if God can’t really be a Quartet. I mean, sure the Church has TOLD us God is a Trinity, but after all, we NEED to QUESTION AUTHORITY. . .
If you aren’t questioning the Trinity, then I ‘question’ just exactly why you’re questioning the Church teaching on priesthood. . .
All life is ‘word’ and only God’s Word has an infallibility. In the Word of God He does not say that Peter is infallible, he is far from it. Before Jesus died He made a point of helping Peter to see that he is not God, just in case there came a time when men begin to ***think ***that he is infallible. The Successor of Peter the Servant of the Servants of God the late Great Pope John Paul II has spoken infallibly on the subject and the answer is NO to the ordination of women.Period.End of discussion.
Your own Eclaisial body is falling apart world wide and you have the nerve to lecture us on how we run our Church. Our Divine Institution has the guarantee of Christ Who instituted It that the Gates of Hell will never prevail against Her.All life is ‘word’ and only God’s Word has an infallibility. In the Word of God He does not say that Peter is infallible, he is far from it. Before Jesus died He made a point of helping Peter to see that he is not God, just in case there came a time when men begin to ***think ***that he is infallible.
I am a part of Christ’s body, a body does not function fully without all its parts. The drink that nourishes the stomach, hands and feet etc…feeds the brain too!
"The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by[c] one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. " 1 Corinthians 12: 12-13

Maybe God wants to place them there, ‘because’ men have not been hearing His call to a humble service. Have you not considered this? Why would women feel that they are being called otherwise?CB: The teachings of the Church can be deepened, but never changed. I likewise have seen many years, and studied many things, and I see nothing in what you quoted re your studies of theology of the body, etc. which would cause me to question the teaching of the Church regarding the nature of the priesthood. The priesthood is not something to be sought for power, but is a calling to service. Historically speaking, women have always been doing service ANYWAY, whereas for men it is considered something that is from the ‘worldly view’ anyway to be a ‘lesser’ thing to engage in service. So why are women looking for the priesthood when they already have ‘more’ opportunities for service than men?
If at first…Maybe God wants to place them there, ‘because’ men have not been hearing His call to a humble service. Have you not considered this? Why would women feel that they are being called otherwise?
Open your eyes, this male dominated world has allowed the sacrament of marriage to be eroded away, already the day of rest has been lost to whole nations, children are being slaughtered before they are born at the hands of another male dominated world, children are being actively educated against God’s grace and salvation with the blessings of governments, governmental leaders in a male dominated world are making laws upon laws whilst they are guided in their own corrosive behvaiours, father’s are leaving homes and fathering children outside marriage with no feelings of responsibility, and because of this children have lost and are losing respect for fatherhood and the male voice.
At this present time the all male priesthood has been under attack for sexual improprieties on an unprecedented scale. Men, especially, are audaciously blaspheming Christ right across the Internet and causing young men to do so verbally in public places. Men are also indulging in explosive sexual orgies of the mind on a scale never encompassed before, which is belittling to women and dangerous to children.
For too many unsaved souls priesthood is not a guiding light to Christ anymore. Given our circumstances, it’s foolish to think that a woman priest can’t guide this lost and self indulgent generation by the power of God’s Holy Spirit in a way He has called her to do so. If God choses to give her the authority to do so, He will.
We all know that His standards are in purity and sacrifice, not the sex of the vessels He choses. It’s because churches are standing up for the ‘wrong’ thing ie male dominance, that overt homosexuality, pedophilia, baby slaughter, corruption etc is creeping in.
My friends, this is about God’s love for this sinful and corrupt world.
God bless
s the Marital imagery.*** A woman CANNOT take the part of the Bridegroom. Apart from the fact that womens “ordination” is invalid, at least one speaker has pointed out that the “marital” “union” between a “priestess” and the Bride would be liturgical lesbianism.s no good claiming that Our Lords actions were limited by the customs of His time: the pagan religions had priestesses, along with their godesses. The modern day “womenpriests” have embraced paganism to an extent; and a lot of their verbal and printed output is proof of that. Please refer to the first line.As I said, becareful of the well you drink from, it is Jesus who is the living waters. That is true, though there is more to Jesus than love. He is also the personification of truth, wisdom and authority, not just love and compassion.Jesus is Love
He may be Spirit, but He did ascend to Heaven in His risen, glorified body. Therefore, He is both spirit and flesh. He is Spirit
.The Holy Spirit works through any vessels of His choosing, male or female
No doubt. And, though he always treated women with the greatest respect and compassion, he never chose one for the priesthood during his 33 years on the Earth.Jesus looks at women through God’s eyes.
That is obviously true, since all human beings can only look at anything through their own eyes. For instance, you look at the Catholic Church through the eyes of an Anglican with a secular bend.Man looks at women through the eyes of men.
Please refer to the first line.God is Love
For some weird reason, you think “servant” is synonymous with priest; we believe all the faithful are servants of God. Some do prophesy. See Saint Faustina for an example.Even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. (Acts 2:18)
We need be no one, for it is Our Lord Jesus Christ who condemns.Who should we be to condemn the actions of one man because of his desires, there but for the Grace of God go a large percentage of the Catholic Church too and many a man all over the world.
The Queen is devout and had served the country and The Lord well, just as she was crowned to do so at a very young age and unexpectedly.
