"Chick-fil-A has something unexpected to crow about.

Consumer use, visits and ad awareness were all up measurably in the third quarter, at a time the chicken chain appeared to be taking a public relations drubbing, reports research specialist Sandelman & Associates."

Even though I’ve seen some people (here and elsewhere) say that the chain would be harmed by that whole “gay marriage” kerfuffle, I couldn’t believe that they were not gaining in popularity/sales, given what I’d seen. I went to a chick-fil-a on that “appreciation day” and would go again, if I had more money.

The company did knuckle-under a bit, didn’t they? 🤷

There was a thread here, about that, a month or two ago. I don’t know how it all turned out or if there was any definitive change on the company’s part.

It’s pretty sad that the media made such a big deal out of it…

“We don’t invent Chicken Sandwich, just the Church of Chicken Sandwich …”

There aren’t any Chick-Fil-A restaurants in my town, which is okay with me, not because of any ideologic stance they take, but because, frankly, I don’t care much for chicken! However, if they are putting out a good product at a fair price, they ought to prosper. I did think the controversy over gay marriage gave them some free publicity, for better or worse, and I thought the amount of media coverage the whole issue got was disproportionate to its newsworthiness!

It’s not just the Chicken sandwiches (My fav is the Spicy Deluxe w/ Pepper Jack cheese) that make it good…it’s also the Chick-fil-A sauce! :D:D:D

Eat at a Chick-fil-A or Raising Cane’s and then come back to us about how you don’t care for chicken 😛 😃

It’s not just their food, it’s also their customer service. Recently I was on a weeklong business trip, and there was a Chick-fil-A near my hotel. I went there several times that week, and by my second or third visit, I was greeted by my name when I walked in the door. At a fast food restaurant!
Closer to home, I ordered several items for my family, and after I had paid for and received my food, I realized I made a mistake. The manager told me not to worry about it, he got me the correct food item, told me to keep the incorrect item, and he refused to charge me for the difference. Chick-fil-A gets it when it comes to service.

Oh, Raising Cane’s! I wish there was one close to where I live now – their chicken is amazing… We have a Chick-Fil-A, and it has good chicken, but Raising Cane’s is the best.

Agree! I only recently tried Raising Cane’s; the restaurant was clean and attractive and the food really good, especially for “fast food.” There is also a chicken place down here called Foosackly’s, which is also good.

I don’t find it surprising that the “bad PR” about Chik-fil-A didn’t hurt sales. For the average consumer, boycotts are a tough sell. It takes solid organization and continual encouragement to keep a boycott going and consumers motivated to give up something they enjoy.

Besides, Chik-fil-A’s support for organizations opposed to gay marriage was already well-known to activists. If a serious boycott were to be organized, it would have happened before. During an election year, there are more important matters to be concerned with.

This summer’s “controversy” was a media creation. 🤷

The same thing happened with the Disney boycott. A few years back people discovered that gay people came to Disney on a self-organized weekend in June. (in other words, Gay Days are NOT sponsored by Disney) These people then decided they would boycott all Disney products because of the fact that Disney allows these gay people to buy tickets and enter the parks. A quick glance at Disney’s bottom line shows just how well that worked.

Same thing with Starbucks, Apple, Target…all companies that were targets of boycotts that seem to be doing just fine.

BTW-if you haven’t had Publix chicken…you have no idea what good chicken is!!!😃

Drat! No Publix in the Midwest 😦

Looks like I’m gonna have to take a trip to Florida again 😃
