Never saw one here in Chicago. How are they standing up for something? Sounds like they are teetering very closely to a dangerous place of discrimination from an employment standpoint.
They are not a church, though I’m sure they would love the tax free status of one.
Maybe they stay away from Chicago because they know they will be unable to continue their business in that way without incident here.
So are you saying that there is some kind of labor law against company executives voicing thier opinions about same-sex marriage? Let me assure you there is not.

It doesn’t matter if all of CFA’s employees identified as homosexual, the president is still entitled to his opinion. His comments were addressed specifically to the issue of same-sex marriage.

Why would there be any discussion of tax-free status? CFA is a fast food restaurant. They pay taxes just like any other business.

I will also go out of my way to support Chick-Fil-A whenever possible.
Always knew there was something good about a business who closed on Sundays.
I think Hobby Lobby does the same. Hopefully for the same reason.
Yes, they are both closed on Sundays for the same reason.

You have to get past the liberal media slant but I salute this company for standing up for traditional family values.
If you agree with what Mr. Cathy, the CFA president, has said, it would be nice to let the company know. The company is getting attacked - especially on the internet. Their FB page has been swarmed by haters, for example. And I don’t mean civil disagreement but ugly pictures and threatening language against him and the comany. It is hard to stand up for traditional values in today’s marketplace. 😦

FWIW, I was at CFA yesterday with my kids. As always, it was packed. 👍

I love the Chik-Fil-A franchise. The are very traditional, so much so that they close all of their stores on Sunday to ensure that no one is guilty of conducting “servile labor” on the Lord’s Day.

From their company policy memo:

Today, the Closed-onSunday policy is reflected in the company’s Corporate Purpose:
**
To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us**.

To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A. Cathy believes that being closed on Sunday says two important things to people: One, that there must be something special about the way Chick-fil-A people view their spiritual life and, two, that there must be something special about how Chick-fil-A feels about its people.

Cathy believes that by giving employees Sunday off as a day for family, worship, fellowship or rest, the company attracts quality people.

Unfortunately for Truet Cathy, he didn’t build Chick-Fil-A…

Actor Ed Helms Boycotting Chick-fil-A for Gay Marriage Stance**
Ed Helms, who is best known for his work on television’s “The Office” and for his role as Dr. Stu Price in “The Hangover” films, has declared that he is boycotting Chick-fil-A. The restaurant chain’s anti-gay marriage stance has apparently made him lose his appetite for chicken.
“Chick-fil-A doesn’t like gay people? So lame. Hate to think what they do to the gay chickens! Lost a loyal fan,” Helms tweeted Wednesday.

I wonder if Helms advocates the Death Penalty for “pedophile” gay chickens.

I worked at CFA all through high school and college. It was always a good experience and somehow I never even got tired of the food. The unfortunate speculation, however, is that once Mr. Cathy dies, the company is likely to go public and lose much of what makes it unique. Being closed on Sunday is anathema to the secular restaurant world.

Ed Helms is a marginal actor, so who cares what he boycotts?
Anyone else notice that people that boycotted Oreo for the “gay cookie” bit are crazy right-wingers, but it’s perfectly acceptable to boycott this place for their stance on the issue?

I typically don’t pay attention to what the nutter Hollywood crowd does. Most of them are scraping the bottom of the barrel of morality, so why should I follow their lead?

They’ve got some good breakfast items, if you can find one on your way to work, or somesuch. Chicken biscuits, mmm.
Their milkshakes are killer, especially the peppermint/chocolate chip one around Christmas. MMMMMMM!

My point exactly.

FYI, he plays a dentist with “issues” in the film series “The Hangover”
He got his start as a correspondent on “The Daily Show” (aren’t you surprised) and now plays one of the principal characters on “The Office.”

Oh no. The horror.
Some but not all Disney Cast members are not heterosexual. All Cast members get a 2 for 1 deal.
Your conclusion is that Chick fil a is helping gay people save money is strange. Are ALL of the Disney Cast members gay? Are some heterosexuals getting a break?
So then just wondering, does that mean if gay people patronize your business, does that mean according to the church you are helping gay people? I’m totally serious. I mean you can’t exactly discriminate who comes into your business.

Good of GLAAD and other organizations like them to bully anyone who does not fit into their idea of “acceptance.”

What’s even more silly is that many of the headlines for the articles reporting on this insist on using the word “anti-gay.”

As somebody who worked there briefly about 20 yrs. ago, I can tell you they are NOT “anti-gay.” They ARE “anti-gay marriage” and “anti-normalization of non-traditional, anti-Christian, and anti-natural sexual practices.” 👍

Expect the Hollywood crowd to REALLY come out in support of a boycott. I can see Ellen DeGeneres foaming at the mouth and breathing fire on her show because of this, for instance.
I would pay to see that. 😛

I applaud Chick-Fil-A for standing up for the truth. 👍

What I find really funny about Chick-fil-a is that they have a 2 for 1 meal day for Disney Cast members every payday. Disney is one of the more gay friendly employers in the country. So Chick-fil-a is helping gay people save money while funding anti gay marriage programs. 🤷
Your looking at it all wrong. It means that the Disney Cast members that choose to take them up on their offer of yummy cheap food, are helping to support the cause of traditional marriage. 😛
