Jim Henson was a dear talented man. Don’t forget there’s plenty of good Sesame Street did for children back in the 70’s & 80’s (after he passed the show was never the same). I have much love & respect for old school Henson works. BTW, I only stop into fast food joints to use their restrooms. I don’t eat that junk anymore.
The previous generation did love Sesame Street because it had a lot sense back then. o:

My wife and myself went out of our way to eat at Chick-Fil-La this last Saturday. We wanted to show them some support for taking a public stance for our shared values.

Why do I feel like Stephen King’s novel “The Stand” is coming true before our very eyes?

We have Chick-Fil-A restaurants all over our area. I don’t like eating junk food if I can help it, but if I have to, my first choice is usually Chick-Fil-A. I liked it when they gave out those Golden Storybooks in place of toys in their kids meals. The other thing is that at every single CFA I’ve ever went to, the employees were always so friendly and personable, not to mention very mannerly. It’s so consistent that it makes me think that they have a policy of hiring pleasant and friendly people or at least encouraging their employees to put on a genuinely happy demeanor. I’ve never experienced that kind consistency of manners and friendliness at any other chain.

In regards to the news story, I thought people were entitled to their own opinions and beliefs, whether or not we agree with them. It seems to just work one way for some people.

I guess the muppets will have to find a way to coontinue business without my support.
They are a PBS broadcast…they are supported with tax grants. So, you will still continue to support “gay tolerance” whether you like it or not. Sorry. 🤷

I’ve been through several McDonald’s drive-thrus and there have been times that I couldn’t understand a word that the cashier was saying.

Gay muppets. Good grief. I suppose the whole of society is expected to align with the gay agenda.

From Reuters:
The Muppets are ending their relationship with fast food restaurant chain Chick-Fil-A in a show of support for gay marriage, the creators of the puppet troupe said on Monday.

“The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors,” the company said in a statement posted on their official Facebook page.

The Henson company, named after the creator of lovable characters like Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, supplied their Creature Shop Muppet toys to Chick-Fil-A for children’s meal packages but decided to sever ties after recent statements by the fast-food chain’s Chief Executive Dan Cathy.

Cathy told the Baptist Press in a recent interview the company supported the “traditional family,” and “the biblical definition of the family unit.”

The Henson company, whose Muppet characters are hugely popular, said its Chief Executive Lisa Henson is a “strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD,” the company said in their statement.

For the record, the offending words that caused all of this are from an interview done with the (NC) Baptist Reporter (and picked up by the Associated Baptist Press):

The company invests in Christian growth and ministry through their WinShape Foundation (WinShape.com). The name comes from the idea of shaping people to be winners.

It began as a college scholarship and expanded to a foster care program, an international ministry, and a conference and retreat center modeled after the Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove.

“That morphed into a marriage program in conjunction with national marriage ministries,” Cathy added.

Some have opposed the company’s support of the traditional family. “Well, guilty as charged,” said Cathy when asked about this opposition.

“We are very much supportive of the family – the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.

“We operate as a family business … our restaurants are typically led by families – some are single. We want to do anything we possibly can to strengthen families. We are very much committed to that,” Cathy emphasized.

Chik-Fil-A issued a press release regarding the controversy (not just about the Muppets, but the controversy in general). Excerpts:

In recent weeks, we have been accused of being anti-gay. We have no agenda against anyone. At the heart and soul of our company, we are a family business that serves and values all people regardless of their beliefs or opinions. We seek to treat everyone with honor, dignity and respect, and believe in the importance of loving your neighbor as yourself.

We also believe in the need for civility in dialogue with others who may have different beliefs. While my family and I believe in the Biblical definition of marriage, we love and respect anyone who disagrees.

Chick-fil-A has a long history of trying to encourage and strengthen marriages and families, both within our Chick-fil-A system and with our customers. My father and our Founder/CEO, Truett Cathy, is a role model for the Cathy family and all those who have joined Chick-fil-A. His personal and business values have always reflected a belief in the importance of marriage and family. We have seen these principles honored powerfully in Dad’s marriage of more than 63 years to our mother Jeannette and those of his family, including my wife Rhonda and me in our 37 years of marriage.

At Chick-fil-A, we have a heart for helping marriages because we know marriage can be difficult at times. Through the years, we have supported our Chick-fil-A staff and franchised Operators in their marriage journey, and since the formation of our family foundation, the WinShape Foundation, we have helped others as well. Primarily through WinShape, we have supported summer camps for girls and boys, 14 foster homes, more than $26 million in college scholarships and the development and operation of the WinShape Marriage Retreat Center.

Bottom line: may Mammon have mercy on anybody who does not fully endorse and embrace the homosexual agenda. Because anything less than ringing support will earn the wrath of the public.

Interesting society we live in these days.
Another reason to cut off al Govtl funding of the Corporation for Public Broacasting

The water, paper products, etc cost money. If you won’t even buy a soda there, try finding a different restroom.

Unless there’s a sign that states, “Restrooms for the use of customers only,” one doesn’t have any obligation to buy anything as a condition of using the toilet or the sinks.

Just so you know one doesn’t have any obligation to flush either but it’s a common courtesy. Just to let you know in case there isn’t a sign.

Agreed. Any way I ate enough McDonalds in my pre-heart surgery days that I should qualify for a lifetime restroom pass.

I will be stopping by a Chik-fil-a. I have never tried them before.
I’ve never been to one, and avoid all fast food joints. For cost, and because I can make the same items better at home. I’ll always pack a lunch when I go anywhere by train or airplane, and except for buying coffee, I stop at fast food places just to use the toilet. Works for me. 🙂

Maybe a connection between all that eating at McDonald’s and your subsequent heart surgery? 😃
