Well, any politician who isn’t actively serving in that role won’t be referred to as such by me. We put them in office to do a job and when they leave office, they become Joe Q Citizens just like the rest of us dirty peasants./QUOTE

I don’t think it matters what they are called. It won’t help or hinder them in the end.

Expect to see at least one hit piece on what a horrible place Chik-Fil-A is. From Newsweek’s tumblr:
Chick-Fil-A came under criticism this month after a report by the organization Equality Matters revealed that the company donated around $2 million to antigay Christian organizations in 2010. “Guilty as charged,” the fast-food chain’s president Dan Cathy said over allegations that his company is antigay (“We are very much supportive of the family—the biblical definition of the family unit.”).

So. Here we are. Tumblr, listen up.

We’re hoping to find a current or former employee of Chick-Fil-A who might want to spill the beans on life inside the alleged antigay company.

If that’s you, or you know someone who might want to talk to us, please email brian.ries@newsweekdailybeast.com. And if you’d like to help spread the word of our search, a reblog or a tweet would be most appreciated.

I think any of us could already write the piece. They just need to have a name to insert.

The lavender mafia is hard at work. They won’t be satisfied until the chain is out of business.

I am striving to put the lavender mafia out of business.

A Chicago alderman wants to kill Chick-fil-A’s plans to build a restaurant in his increasingly trendy Northwest Side ward because the fast-food chain’s top executive vocally opposes gay marriage.
Ald.Proco “Joe” Moreno announced this week that he will block Chick-fil-A’s effort to build its second Chicago store, which would be in the Logan Square neighborhood, following company President Dan Cathy’s remarks last week that he was “guilty as charged” for supporting the biblical definition of marriage as between a man and woman.
I found this particularly annoying, especially given that Chicago is a strongly Catholic city:
The alderman has the ideological support of Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
“Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values,” the mayor said in a statement when asked about Moreno’s decision. “They disrespect our fellow neighbors and residents. This would be a bad investment, since it would be empty.”
Really, Lord Rahm? We’re not Chicagoans because we’re Catholic?

Common courtesy dictates that you at least ask permission from someone at the counter before using the restroom.
That’s news to me.
The only places I see with signs posted to that effect are businesses that have a chronic problem with people walking in and using (and misusing and trashing and vandalizing) the restroom.
My understanding is that they want their toilets to be used only by customers. I’ve never heard that they fear people “misusing and trashing and vandalizing” the toilets.
I am under the impression that all restrooms are for use by patrons only unless permission for the general public is expressly posted.
Not so. Some of the classiest hotels in NYC don’t restrict who uses the toilets and they have no signs that grant that use to non-guests. No large department store restricts use of its restrooms, either. Airports and railway stations are the same.

Does anyone else see a serious persecution coming of those who believe in only traditional marriage?

I mean, I think one could potentially be placed in the same box as KKK members and neo-Nazis in the future, and I don’t see it as being all that far off.

Showing support for the traditional family is already seen as a sign of evil hatred and bigotry by so many people as we have seen in the responses over the days and weeks to Mr. Cathy’s comments. The garbage that people have posted on the Chik-Fil-A facebook page is appalling.

As a straight guy about to go through the “Big D”, i’ve done my part of wrecking traditional marriage so i’m really indifferent on the issue, but yes,IMO, those who oppose gay marriage will soon be in the minority and will continue to be perscuted by those who support it.

Good for Chik-fil-A!!! 👍

Mike Huckabee announced August 1st as an official Chik-fil-A day for standing up for their beliefs pubicly…no CFA in my small town but I may drive the 45min to eat at one on that day 😉

I’m sorry to hear that garn, I will keep your family in my prayers.

I personally don’t care about being in the minority, I think Christ promised that His true followers would definitely be a minority. However, being put in the same category as hate groups is absolutely insane to me, but given the comments of so many that I have read over the past couple of days I could see it coming sooner rather than later.

How long before Christian=hate monger/biggot?

It is, but that’s the far left for you.

We’re already there. 🤷

I thought the “lavender mafia” was the term used to describe homosexual Catholic priests.
Ya, its a derivation of “Velvet Mafia”, but lavender is used to implicate the involvement of the bishops (who’s typical vesture includes a purple skullcap).

The owner of Chick fil A can believe whatever he wants, donate to whatever causes he pleases. I have no problem with it.

I do wonder however why the company put signs up saying that the Muppet toys pulled from their kids meals had safety issues. There were no safety issues, the Henson company pulled their advertising from Chick Fil A-something they have as much a right to do as Chick Fil A has to donate to the causes it chooses.

Why not tell the truth? Admit that there are deep ideologocial differences between the two companies. If Chick Fil A is really committed to the rightness of their convictions, why the lie about “safety” when the truth has nothing to do with it?

Maybe its because the Muppets may be hazardous to your children’s moral health.

I agree this is a head scratcher, I would say there is more to this story though than just Chik-Fil-A “lying” though.

Half of the wacky comments on their facebook page are screaming about how Christians are liars and biggots and haters…it’s really ridiculous.

oh, and welcome home Seeker :)👍

From what I’ve read, it does not appear that Chik-Fil-A is rabidly anti-gay. It seems that the company has made favorable comments about traditional families and supported causes for tradiditional families. Such actions violate that fierce pro-gay orthodoxy now ever present, and elicited a reaction against the company.

What the gay mafia is actually doing is fervently demonstrating how “anti-traditional family” they are. They don’t want alternative families…they want to utterly destroy the concept of family.

No, it is not far off. Fr. George Rutler says as much in this article. And gay marriage is likely to be the test case which will begin to lead to further persecution and loss of religious liberty for Christians.
