Let’s not get personal, Robert. 🙂

I do agree that merely a packed restaurant is not in itself indicative of support for the owner’s stance on TM, even though I obviously agree with the owner on that stance.

I used to work in PR & advertising. News stories result in name recognition, which translates to curiosity, which in turn often promotes patronage, at least in the short-term. Let’s see if a news source is brave enough to interview those in “packed restaurants” and then publish those interviews. 🙂

I favor NPR to do it.

I apologize to all for being off-topic. I could say that others hijack threads, too, but that would be trying to mitigate my own failure for being off-topic.

I do believe, however, that most of my posts did, in fact, have to do with the Chick-Fil-A controversy.
I would say your posts injected some much needed humor in the conversation, even if they were a little off topic. 🙂

I went to Chik-Fil-A today, not so much as a show of support for traditional marriage (although I definitely do support it and the Church’s teachings on it), but primarily to show support for the 1st Amendment. If people want to boycott a place they are more than welcome to do so and I encourage that type of expression if that is their belief. I strongly disagree with the mayors and other government officials who feel they can shut out a business because of their political or religious beliefs though, that sets a seriously dangerous precident and is a power that our governments should not have in any form. Regardless if they have a legal leg to stand on or not, making threats of legal action regarding zoning and business licenses are really inappropriate.

If a company is genuinly discriminating against people that is one thing, but I don’t believe Chik-Fil-A has ever done this, quite the opposite in fact considering I know a homosexual man who worked at one happily for quite a few years.

I’m entitled to rib Rich about his posts. Besides, it doesn’t get more personal than toilet habits, eating habits and underwear. 😃
I don’t recall saying anything about my toilet habits. 🤷

I’d note that the mayor who actually had experience in business, Michael Bloomberg of NYC, was against the notion of trying to shut a business down on ideological grounds.

Very true. While I am definitely not a fan of Mayor Bloomberg for numerous reasons, I must give him credit for taking the appropriate stance on this issue. Good for him.

No. He’d rather shut them down on nutritional grounds. 😃

Uncle Mikey may not want to dictate what you think…but he sure wants to control what you eat and drink.

I have a better memory, I guess. Stopping at fast food places to use the restroom? If it’s yellow than it’s mellow? Those both involve toilets. 😛
I hope you all know that you have permanently ruined the soda Mello Yello for me forever…

Nice to see on Chick Fil A day:

The huge outpouring of support for them puts a huge smile on my face.🙂

I thought that nearly everyone stops at fast food joints to use the toilets while on the road. Sure beats the side of the highway behind some bushes, especially for the ladies.

As far as color goes, I said that that was advice given a number of years ago in areas with water shortages. I don’t live in such places.

Ya, well apparently she ticked off alot of the other council members, because she spoke as if she was speaking for the board, which requires a unanimous vote to do.
 This is getting insane, I hope that people realize that these government officials are going to be even more emboldened if O’Bama gets reelected.

Can you guys do me a favor and vote this thread 5 stars? Thanks!
