Lol…since part of what the gay community is angry about is the giving to pro-traditional marriage organizations, I’m guessing he/Chick-fil-A was already giving…without expecting business in return. 😛
“Without expecting business in return”? Puleeze. He didn’t get to where he is by stumbling into profits. He may not have known the extent of the windfall he was about to get, but had to be aware of what was likely going to happen.

LOL, I can’t believe fellow Catholics think buying disgusting, greasy fast food is anything but a poor health decision.

There are reasons to support a place, and reasons to boycott a place, but if you think that somehow it’s like voting, or working for a non-profit, serving your community, etc. well, you need help.
Funny, I go to Chick Fil A semi-regularly, and never buy “disgusting, greasy fast food.”

LOL I can’t believe you’re so upset about people saying what they have a right to say and people eating where they have a right to eat.

He gave to pro-traditional marriage groups BEFORE any of this flap occurred. What crystal ball do you think he owns that he would have known that he would have a huge protest and that the protest would lead to a grassroots supportive response. “Puleeze” is right. You have absolutely nothing to base your claim on. You are being ridiculous.

To IamRefreshed:

Regarding your quote-

“Socialism, while presented as a means of assuring equality, does so through “restraint and servitude”, while “democracy seeks equality in liberty.” Friedrich von Hayek

Socialism is not the opposite of democracy. Socialism is a political system. Democracy is a means of choosing a political system. In a true democracy, where decisions are made on the basis of one person, one vote, rather than one dollar, one vote, it seems unlikely that the majority of people would vote for a system where 1% of the population controls 40% of the wealth.

Is their food good? We don’t have it here, and I never tried it when I was traveling for work. A hater on FB told me to “enjoy your sodium-drenched, chicken paste wads,” but I don’t know that he is an accurate food critic. 😉

Crazy, isn’t it? You would think that people showing support for a person who is vilified for openly stating their Christian beliefs would get support from Christians, but I guess that is just unfathomable to some people. 🤷

Just had my first Chick fil A ever. Nice sandwich. The meat was a boneless, white meat chicken breast with seasonings, moist but not drippy. Loved it.

People were lined up for a long way (45 minute wait) but the lines kept moving and the
staff was still friendly and upbeat despite the neverending rush.

More radicals for traditional marriage.*** How MEAN.*** :dancing:

It was rather social. I took my 87 year old Dad, and he chatted up another fellow who’d moved from Chicago (to Indianapolis … he was vacationing here in CA).

It is a bit of a way for me to go for food, about 15 miles out of town where we have most other fast food choices. But I’ll go there again, and probably get served much faster. 😉

As a “protest” I suppose its minor league compared to camping out in a city park and making a big mess for everyone else to clean up. But I liked it better. We tossed our trash in the bin when we left too. 😃

So funny how some who are against the protest reminding the protesters how many calories and fat the chicken has. OOOKKKKAAAAYYYYYY now you are trying to tell us what we should eat on top of telling us how we should think about marriage. Unbelievable!!! Talk about jumping form the frying pan into the fire. LOL

Chick-fil-A also serves salads and many other dishes. Even vegetarians can eat there and be happy. Wonder what other argument they will come up with to shut this business down. It ain’t working and just makes people more determined to go there.

Where did “Christians are so intolerant and tell people how to think and what to do” play into this? Just shows the hypocrisy of that statement. I think that is what brought so many people out. Finally time to show the other side.

I got mine, Took around 30 minutes standing in the long line and I was surprised to see so many teens and young people who we are told support gay marriage. People of all kinds. Young families with babies and senior citizens all standing line until they could get inside to order, plus cars wrapped around the building for the drive through.

👍

To reciprocate for all the business that CfA got today, I would expect that Cathy would donate a good percentage of** today’s** receipts to pro-tradmarriage organizations. I don’t expect him to have Paul Newman’s generosity, but has anyone any information about how much that might be? I hope that transactions aren’t all one-way “buy my sandwiches, but don’t expect anything in return from me for your pro-tradmarriage positions.” 😦
They have a charitable foundation already, the WInShape foundation.

You’re absolutely right.

It would be far better for us to let the Mayor of Chicago, the Mayor of DC, the Mayor of Boston, the Speaker of the NYC City Council, etc., have sole access to the media to say “because you’re pro traditional marriage, you are not welcome in our town.”

It is totally un-Christian of us who support the traditional marriage position to do anything. Ve nasty Christians should just crawl under a rock.

I understand now. How could I have been so horrible.

I’m going to find the first homosexual married couple I see today and apologize for being so intolerant.

Chick-Fil-A uses a whole piece of chicken breast, coated in spices and breading, and fried. It is served on a bun with 2 pickles. Whatever condiments you want you put on it yourself. It isn’t “chicken paste wads”. Now, regarding the sodium…name me one fried fast food thing that doesn’t have alot of sodium. 🤷

All I know is that Chick-Fil-A was a machine yesterday. The one I went to, the drive thru line wrapped around the building twice! Even still, I was in line and then out with my food in 9 minutes. They had a pre-order station, an order station, a pay station, a food pickup station, and then a condiment station. I’ll give them this, they were ready for the crowds.

And to top it off, I found out that the assistant manager of the store I went to is himself gay! Yet he was outside directing things and even greeting people in line.

🤷

A single-day show of support for a company being vilified by the haters on the Left? It is much, much more than a “poor health decision.” It shows the haters that we aren’t going to roll over in response to their tactics.
“The haters” ? Look, I’m against gay marriage as anyone, but those who disagree with me aren’t ‘haters’.

All I see is fast food gimmick patriotism.
