I love their chicken and waffle fries. Btw, they have very good breakfast items too! 🙂

I am thrilled that this was a very succesful event and reflected a unity among Christiians that I have not experienced in my lifetime. I also feel that so often Christians call to boycott a business, but this has now made be realize that we are much more powerful when we stand FOR SOMETHING!! 😉
This is my preferred way. I don’t boycott, but I do support businesses. It’s a much more positive approach IMO.

They have a charitable foundation already, the WInShape foundation.
So it seems that they do. But, what are the purposes of WinShape Marriage?

“WinShape Marriage creates opportunities for marital transformation. Our experiences combine insightful teaching, dynamic worship, experiential learning, sequestered spaces and grace-based hospitality. We also add unique elements of adventure that foster environments where couples can experience truth and change.”

This appears to be parallel to a Catholic program (Retrouvaille?) aimed at strengthening marriage and is a very good thing indeed. But, nothing on its website mentions traditional marriage, so the charity is aimed at strengthening marital bonds, not at putting un-tradmarriages down. Let’s not read into it what isn’t there.

WinShape also supports pro-traditional marriage groups. That was part of the reason for the boycott by gay rights groups. Did you read anything about this controversy outside of this thread, because you don’t seem to know much about it. 🤷

But was it? There was no advertising to that effect.

Perhaps some of it. I’m no fan of Paul Newman’s spaghetti sauces, but I know that all profits go to charity. No one is asking Cathy to be that generous.
Paul Newman made millions on overpriced movie theatre tickets. How much of that did he give to charity?

They were saying on my local news station this morning that LGBT groups are planning a “kiss in”, I believe either this or next Friday.

Talk about spoiling customers appetite’s. If it turns into what I imagine it to be I wouldn’t do that as a straight person. Gross.

If I had a Chick-fil-A near me, I would go on that day and ignore the kissers.

He didn’t own the movie theaters and so would not have profited from ticket sales. But, he DID own his food line and the profits from that enterprise are what he donated to charity.

Is their food good? We don’t have it here, and I never tried it when I was traveling for work. A hater on FB told me to “enjoy your sodium-drenched, chicken paste wads,” but I don’t know that he is an accurate food critic. 😉
It’s awesome. I very, very rarely eat junk food or food that is fried. Chick Fil A is one of the only fast food places I can go to that actually has a range of things I eat. The chargrilled chicken sandwich has 290 calories and 4 g. of fat. The southwest salad has 250 calories and 9 g. of fat. They also offer other side items beside fries. I almost always get the fruit cup. Sometimes I get yogurt, chicken soup or a side salad. For breakfast, I get oatmeal. Last night when my husband and I went I just got a Coke Zero, which is a treat for me as I usually only drink water or tea.

Besides the fact that they offer 10x more healthy options than other fast food places, there is nothing wrong with indulging once in a while, as long as it really is once in a while! Last week I went and got one of their spicy chicken sandwiches, which is fried, like I said I hardly ever eat fried food, and oh my goodness, was it amazing.

I’m laughing because I’m wondering if the people whining about the unhealthy food have ever even been to Chick Fil A.

+1

This is more fun than the “You didn’t build that jokes.”

Maybe we’ll get some new fodder for next week. 😃

I know. Let’s see how much of a mess Friday’s crowd will leave behind, though I have a feeling that there will be more hetero kissers than homo kissers.

“You didn’t pick that up.”😛

If support of tradmarriage is part of WinShape, it’s not mentioned on the website. 🤷

I’m opposed to prostitution, and I’ve never patronized a whorehouse. Your point?

Hold up. Actors’ compensation has no relation to ticket sales? Really? So, if people don’t go to the movies, the actors still get paid? Cool gig. Um…how do the studios afford to pay the actors and crew?

My point is that if you or any of the other who are complaining had ever actually been to Chick Fil A, it is quite plain that they offer a lot of healthier options. Sounds like you are complaining for the sake of complaining.
