This is just too funny to leave alone…
HisAlone… Catholics experience Christ…body, blood, soul and divinity each and every time we go to mass… I don’t know about you but I was taught to strive to make my entire life a prayer to our Lord…

Just because you have been told that Catholics are wrong, you don’t have the sense to check it out all by your lonesome… you have to depend on the opinion of your pastor? Go to a mass… open your heart, receive the Word, feel the presence of God dwelling among his people… you will have the Christ experience of your life buddy! And guess what… there are masses everyday (except Good Friday) so we can get this feeling every day!
So you do not have a relationship outside of mass?
I know Christs presnce everyday, all day and so can you.

Salvation through his Church.

You are speaking of the role of the Church, which is built by Jesus to help lead us to truth and salvation.

John 20
21Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

Who did Jesus send?

Matthew 16

17Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. 18And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock** I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. **19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

What church could this be?
Im sorry you left behind that which is true to grasp that which is tempral.

Salvation is not through any church salvation is by the grace of God alone through faith alone.

If you reject the Church, don’t say you weren’t warned:

Matthew 18

17If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Luke 10
16"He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects him who sent me."

Do you know what the Church teaches about salvation?

Then why did he talk about his Church? Why did he talk about “building his Church?” Or taking someone before his Church? Or his Church being like a city on a hill?

Did you leave it out or did Jesus overstep his authority?
As we are called to be light and salt the people of God when they are together should be a like a city on a hill where each individual light is added to the collective light to be very biright light.
Gods people are those that carry Him and are true temples of the living God. they can be Catholic but are not necessarily so.

Do you know what the Church teaches about salvation?
Do you know what God teaches about salvation?
Do you know salvation is of the Jews?

I don’t think that’s what BlestOne was saying at all. For Catholics, every waking minute is a living prayer to God. Catholic know Jesus personally, they believe Jesus is their Lord and saviour, and they also receive Jesus in Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity through the Eucharist, which Christ instituted while here on earth. Outside of Mass, catholics continue to know, experience and live through Jesus every minute of every day.

Christs presence in a believers life is a marvelous thing. One experiences the Spirit of God as we live our life and He guides us, embraces when others would reject us, answers our questions, testifies of Jesus and the things of the Father. How great and marvelous is He. He has embraced us so we know that we are His and if we are His how can we believe anyone who says the we are not part of Christs Church?

and if we are His how can we believe anyone who says the we are not part of Christs Church?
I can see this will take some time 😃 and I need to go to bed 😃 So for now, I’ll say noone can say you are not part of Christ’s body of believers if you believe in God and are baptised - BUT - there is only one church instituted by Christ when He was here on earth and that is The Catholic Church. 😃 You’re lucky. I’m neither catholic nor baptised yet - at least you’re half way there 😃

Well you’re batting about 50%…want to give it another shot?
Rob,

You told me the word "Christian is not in the Bible and I gave you the Scripture proof to show you that it is. I asked you to show me where the Roman Catholic Church is mentioned in the Bible, and you couldn’t do it. Please show me where the Roman Catholic Church is mentioned in the Bible. So, why should I trust that you’re understanding of the Scripture is correct elsewhere?

I believe Jesus Christ is everything for the Christian. All of the unsearchable riches are found in Christ. All of the promises are yes in Christ. I am confused why the Catholic Church is so important to Catholics when Christ is everything to the Christian. Do you want to help me understand why the Catholic Church is so important to Catholics when our life is hidden in Christ?
Jesus Christ, Who is All in all for all time, since before time began, founded one Church on earth. Only one. And He prayed fervently to the Father that we all be one and remain one, as He and the Father are One. He gave His church power over sin, and breathed the Holy Spirit upon her to lead her into all truth.

He declared, with His Sacred voice, that the gates of hell would not prevail against His earthly Church. He promised that He would be with us until the end of the age. For this exact purpose, He miraculously transformed bread and wine into His Sacred Body and Blood. He passed that Heavenly authority on to the Apostles, who have passed it on to their successors who are one in the One Church which He founded.

By that same Heavenly authority, the successors to the Apostles canonized scripture into the bible as you know it, and presented it to a hungering world for all time.

You love Christ - that is apparent. If you could, would you attend the Last Supper so as to eat His Body, which is REAL FOOD, and drink His Blood, which is REAL DRINK? Yes, of course you would! It occurs in the mass which we celebrate. But, the bread and wine must be consecrated by that same Heavenly authority which Jesus Christ gave to the Twelve. The authority to consecrate the bread and wine into His Body and Blood. He did not authorize the masses to do it. Rather, He gave that authority to the Twelve, and they passed it on to their successors.

Catholics love Christ’s Church for these very reasons, and many more. We eat His Body and drink His Blood, knowing that it is not symbolic - No! We consume Him, the Paschal Lamb, as He commanded. He is our food and drink. We shall never hunger or thirst again!

We spend time in His presence at Adoration. We are head over heels in love with Him. We are home and can go nowhere else to look for Him as we have found Him - Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Catholic (“universal”) Church. We invite you to listen to our testimony, for it is true.

At least some of Christ’s truth is found in all separated Christian churches. May God bless them all! But, the fulness of truth, Apostolic succession, the entire deposit of faith, seven perfect Sacraments, Christ in the Flesh, and so much more is found in the Catholic Church. THAT is why it is so important to us.

We are in love with Jesus Christ.

Amen! Alleluia!

I put the original question there so that maybe you can understand where I am coming from. To know Christ is to know his CHurch. To know his Church is to fully know Christ. One cannot do one without the other.

The only problem that is here in this thread is that you have bought into several falsehoods. One is that Catholics do not know who Jesus is. We know quite well, thank you. He is the Son of God who died and rose again that whoever should beleive in him might have eternal life. Another one that you have bought into is that Jesus did not found a Church. This is as unscriptural as Islam.

The Church CAN ONLY preach Christ crucified because that is the Gospel. You want to know why CAtholics rely on the Church and not on a relationship with Jesus. What you are not asking is why we do not have the same relationship as you. It is because we hold to the faith handed to us by Apostles.

Who founded your church and what was the year it was founded?
The one true church is the one that Christ purchased by His blood consisting of redeemed sinners of all tongue, tribe, and nations… Nobody can know Christ fully in this life, therefore the claim that you can know Christ fully as a Catholic is not true. Please tell me what it means to know nothing but Jesus Christ and Him crucified. What did the life and death of Jesus Christ accomplish for those who makeup the church? There is only one savior, and He is a person. The Bible never speaks of the church as the savior, nor is the Roman Catholic Church mentioned in the Bible. Please let me know if you are able to find the Roman Catholic Church mentioned in the Bible.

better question who has shown you the face of Christ?
even better question for you hisalone, underdog, and redemmed.who is the head of your respective churches?"for many will come saying i am he"each and every one of you three are taught by who?
The head of the church is Jesus Christ. Note the name of the thread.

What part of this bolded part did you not see as every minute of every day? Unfortunately, I have responsibilities that keep me from daily mass… so I fail to see how you can think I don’t have a relationship outside of mass.

Although Catholics believe the bible is the word of God, we recognize that Jesus didn’t come to write a book, he came to start a Church.

Others recorded his wishes:

Matthew 18

17If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Luke 10
16"He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects him who sent me."

John 20
21Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

1 Timothy 3
15if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.

2 Thes 2
15So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

Matthew 16

17Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. 18And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” - Matt 1

The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. 1 Tim 1:15

Christ came into this world to save sinners to the praise of God’s glorious grace. I’m not sure how your scriptures have anything to do with the Roman Catholic Church. It sure seems you have exalted the Catholic institution above Christ. I believe Christians should be Christ-centered or God-centered in heart and mind. Too many Christians are man-centered in heart and mind. It almost seems you are promoting a man-centered perspective which centers around the Roman Catholic Church. The church cannot be the center of creation, because God is always the center of worship, praise, adoration… all of creation was made to glorify God.

ummm… well it is… in it’s original language…lemme see if I can find it…I think it is in Matthew

Your statement seems to assert that Having Christ in our lives is everything as you said “all of the unsearchable riches are found in Christ”. But we also want to do the will of God. So much more important is that to me than the wonderful blessing God gives to me. Our riches are found in Christ yes, but Christ finds His riches in the Church. It is important to ask not what God can do for us but rather ask what we can do for God. The answer is simple; be His Church.

LOL…that’s suppose to testify that the Roman Catholic Church is in the Bible in the original language? If that’s true, why do the Roman Catholic translations leave out the Roman Catholic Church in your authorized translations?

I think you have discerned the issue at hand. We are suppose to discern the will of God. You made the statement of “but Christ finds His riches in the Church”. I’m not sure if you can support that concept in the Bible, do you? God did not come in the flesh to exalt the church. God came to rescue a people (body of Christ - church) from condemnation for His own glory, and to the praise of His glory. It seems you have a reverse understanding of what God has done in Christ. It’s all about the glory of God, and not the people whom He has saved. Do you think I am wrong according to the Bible? Are you proclaiming Jesus Christ and Him crucified to the world, or are you proclaiming the Roman Catholic Church to the world? What are we exalting to the world as our greatest joy and the ultimate answer to a broken world?

Hi underdog, Im a Catholic Charismatic. I have the Church founded by the Lord Jesus Christ and at the same time have an intimate relationship with Him through powerful worship through the Holy Spirit. By the way we have Catholic Priest as our spiritual advisers as well.

True, Jesus Christ is everything, He is the Way, the Truth and Life. I’m satisfied by His kindness and mercy. His love endures forever. I proclaim He is my King, my Savior, my Lord and my Friend. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ, now and forever.

Good day sir
