Actually the reference to “the seven churches” in Revelation exactly represents the Catholic (and Orthodox) understanding of the term “true particular church.” Quite different from “denomination.”

Well, it depends on your theology. Jesus is the eternal God with no begining or end, the 2nd person in the godhead. I believe the Old Testament Saints together with the New Testament Saints to be of the same body of Christ, thus I believe in One Church that Jesus founded.
Now, if you believe the Old Testament Church is seperate and distinct from the New Testament Church, do you now believe in two churches? Please answer my question because I answered yours.

Faith in Christ is necessary to be added to the church. Therefore, Jesus only died for those who would believe. God knows in advance who will believe. Therefore, Jesus only died for His bride. If Jesus died for those who would not believe then we would preach universal salvation and another way to the Father apart from Jesus Christ. In essence, we would be calling God a liar.
1 John 5:10
Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son.

I guess we need to start definining biblical words. I believe the word elect is just another word for the body of Christ or the church. Do you think the word elect means anything different than saints, body of Christ, or the church? Another term found for God’s people is God’s chosen ones which is similar to the concept of the elect.

I think God's "elect" is referring to those who choose God.. He knows from the foundation of the earth who will be with Him in heaven.. but not because we don't have a choice, rather because He exists outside of time. He is not forcing our decisions or pulling our puppet strings.. but rather, he can view all of our choices and their consequences outside of our idea of "time." He knows, because He is there, past, present and future, calling to us all to "choose" Him:)Regardless of how you or I define the “elect” you cannot get around this statement.
