Hey, Lak–HERE is another one.

It does not have as many options (I don’t think Mormon is on the list–nor should it be) and there is no Orthodox–what they call neo-orthodox has nothing to do with EOC–but I came out 100% Catholic on it

It came out as I would have expected, though I have no idea what “Neo-Orthodox,” “Classical Liberal,” and “Modern Liberal” are.

What’s interesting is that I see there are people who scored 100% Catholic but who got the rest of the sequence totally different. I guess it shows that “unity in diversity” is a reality in the Catholic Church (i.e. diversity within clear parameters).

For those Catholics (or Orthodox) who “achieved” less than 100% on this “quiz,” or find that some other doctrine or belief is ranked ahead of or close to Catholicism (other than Orthodoxy), can then reflect on why such a result occurred.

Was it because some questions on the quiz were misleading? Worded in a way that conflicted or confused?

Or the tougher self-analysis: is there something in our Catholic belief that is “fuzzy,” and that leads to doctrinal interpretations that are not correct?

We can reflect on this and pray, and – hopefully – even ask of our clergy any uncertainties or ambiguities that come to light. Remember, our clergy is more than “just the guy who stands up there on Sunday doing Mass,” he is also your spiritual and doctrinal advisor (an aspect of priesthood that all to many of us, myself included, fail to use fully to our spiritual betterment).

The penance for “not sure” is to say 10 Hail Mary’s … just kidding, of course. If you find yourself unsure about such questions, by all means pursue all avenues to discover what you are unsure of.

There are times I find myself unsure about aspects of dogma and doctrine (those pesky Romans!). There is much that is written that the Internet now gives access too. Still uncertain? Talk to your priest; or your denominational spiritual advisor, but even non-Catholics should talk to a priest – at least you will gain a different, and perhaps very enlightening view.

I know what you mean about that quiz. I’ve taken it before. I answered “confess all sins, not necessarily to a cleric” because that actually is the Catholic teaching (we only need to confess mortal sins to a priest). The way the quiz is set up, that would result in conservative Protestant, rather than Catholic. Also, one of the questions about the Trinity is worded in a way that actually is more Mormon than Christian (you have to be careful to read it closely).

Oh, I see were I messed up. It’s that second question isn’t?

WOW!!! That color one is just strange! I kept picking blue as my color preference yet orange and yellow came up as the top two favorites? I think something is off with this quiz.
