Yet the throat is on the same height as the shoulders, which do get touched:

Did you actually watch that video? It seems not.

But I strongly suggest that you do watch it and perhaps increase your knowledge of what the Sign of the Cross is all about so will not be spreading your error.

Nowhere has it ever been taught we touch the throat and it is not shown in that video either.

The point of the Sign of the Cross is not about touching chakras but a proclamation of the Sign of our Salvation. And this you would have found out if you actually paid attention to what the video is teaching.

As a matter of fact, it does not even touch the heart except when we do the three little crosses before the gospel which I explained earlier.
The wider point is that the chakras represent the locations within the body of divine emotions (bliss, love, ecstacy)
And the very much wider point is that Christianity does not teach that anywhere in its doctrines.

This is an understanding of the human being that was prior to Christianity. Of the old religions the only one compatible with Christianity is Judaism because it is the religion that Christianity fulfills.
of the three Divine Persons (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) which a person experiences when by the grace of God, the chakras are opened.
And pray tell where in Scripture or Church doctrine does it say that the chakras are opened when a person experiences the grace of God? This conception is COMPLETELY ALIEN to the Judeo-Christian understanding of man.

Also, nowhere will you find in Christian teaching that the Father, Son and Holy spirit correspond to divine emotions of bliss, love, ecstasy. Divine Love is not an emotion but what the Trinity IS.

Your understanding is so totally up the creek because you are attempting to syncretize the two incompatible religions.

You are Catholic so I would suggest that you immerse yourself in learning about your religion than following heretical teachings.

I slightly disagree here. He not just running towards it. He’s crossed it.🙂

. . . you are attempting to syncretize the two incompatible religions.
Syncretize religions? Not at all. I am only describing reality. My description of reality doesn’t come from religion but from scientific observation of observable fact.

While the practice of kundalini yoga is not compatible with Christianity, kundalini itself is integral to our faith even if knowledge of kundalini isn’t.

Uh-oh. Don’t look now, but every Catholic and Orthodox Christian attending Mass blesses themselves by touching their higher chakras . . .
  • Forehead (Bliss - the Beatific Vision)
  • Heart (Love)
  • Throat (Ecstacy - the Holy Spirit)
. . . even though most have no inkling why the Apostles gave us this Tradition, or whether doing so is just “stuff” to do.

.
But in making the sign of the Cross, Catholics are contemplating on the Holy Trinity, nothing else.

. . . of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’
You do not know him, but I know him.
And if I should say that I do not know him,
I would be . . . a liar.
But I do know him and I keep his word.

You know what.

I now agree with Mary Jessica’s original point.

We Catholics seriously need to start emphasising the mystical side of the faith.

Otherwise people like certain posters on this thread get the idea that it’s OK to bring in this Pagan mysticism to replace it. 2000 years of being the pillar and safeguard of Truth and these jokers turn up and say they’ve got a little bit more to add

I do think that we need to focus more on our contemplative lives at times. Where I live the Virgin Mary seems to be rarely thought of amongst other Catholics. The rosary’s significance in regards to her is not noticed, even though the Hail Mary is repeated. God seems like an abstract idea to so many that when the realness of the prescense of Christ is felt it is so unexpected that it can be shocking. I think that we should put more time into explaining the process of building fath. For so many it seems they go to church yet are not there, it is out of obligation not true love and enjoyment of the experience. Often times it seems some of the more practical skills to build faith are missed, I do not think it is a fault of the Church but our overstimulated, need it now, materialistic culture. If we have a hard time sitting through mass for instance then how can we change our behavior and thinking to solve it. Eastern religions do have an upperhand in this to an extent. I am not saying they are better or right but it shows the need for us Catholics to work on this. We have a long history of Contemplative devoted Saints who died to their selves on order to truly live the path to a closer union with the Lord. But how did they do this? We need more of the how especially when it comes to the times when we are not in church. Faith begins with a mere hope that someone hears our prayers. I fear that many people cannot get past the hope or know if there is even anthing more there. If they can’t we should not criticize them or say they aren’t good enough Catholics but wonder why. What can be done to help. The sincere hope for true knowledge and faith can eventually come with certainty in who we really are, Gods Children, and then unfold even more beautiful treasures. I have studied quite a bit to understand the lights and strange swirly feelings. I don’t doubt that when someone becomes very devoted and loving to any faith it can change them in many ways. Many people who claim to have had a kundalini awakening never practiced kundalini yoga. They were just spiritually devoted people who when things actually did get a little mystical they couldn’t find an explanation anywhere else for what they were feeling so they get wrapped up in another religion because this stuff is normal for yogis. I am not sure how exactly to approach the issue but I think it is deserving of more understanding in order to keep people in the faith who need extra help and avoid alienating the ones who are having some mystical experiences. I am no longer a cafeteria catholic by the way. I love every part of the faith. It is all we need yes, so let’s enhance the areas that may have been a bit forgotten in our busy world. 🙂

No you were not describing reality. Far from it. You really should have watched the video you linked to, then you will know what reality is.

Yes, you are trying to syncretize religions.

Absolutely TOTAL HOGWASH.

You so do not know what Christianity is all about.

There is nothing in Kundalini Yoga that is even remotely relevant let alone essential to Christianity.

Everything you have written to support your tenet has been plain rubbish and comes from a painful ignorance of the religion you claim to profess.

I am sorry, but I thought I was clear. The practice of kundalini yoga is incompatible with Christianity, but the phenomenon of kundalini is integral to the successful practice of our faith; integral insofar as the Beatific Vision is integral. But don’t take my word for it; go and see for yourself.

St Teresa of Avila who happens to be probably the greatest mystic of the Church actually advocates against entertaining it.

When a nun comes claiming to be having mystical experiences, she sends them to scrub the kitchen floor.

We cannot emphasize mysticism for the simple fact that this needs discernment. Spirits can be of the devil and unless one has a holy and good spiritual director to help one discern then you are opening up a can of worms.

Christianity is about Truth. It is about Jesus Christ who is truth.

What needs to be emphasized is humility and obedience. If one follows this, one can’t got wrong.

If one is having so called mystical experience then one must try to find a holy priest experience in spiritual direction.

As an aside, I am sorry that my words of truth evoke such dark emotions in you.

No it isn’t. Beatific Vision has absolutely nothing nothing to do with the principle of kundalini “phenomenon” whatever that phenomenon may be.

Please study your religion before you make this claims.

The “kundalini phenomenon” is totally unnecessary and has no bearing ont he succesful practice of our faith. And there is no such thing as a “succesfull” practice of our faith. What is necessary for the true practice of our faith is humility and obedience.

You are spreading MAJOR ERRORS in your post.

As an aside, I am sorry that my words of truth evoke such dark emotions in you.

As an aside your words are not truth. They are lies. And the devil is the father of lies.

That is why I find your post concerning.

The devil masquerades as an angel of light and because he is subtle and very cunning he will present the lie as something reasonable and appealing. That is why many get taken in.

And they are not dark emotions… it is horror at the error you are spreading.
