I think this may have been covered already, but I can’t find a discussion that has any depth…So, I’ll start my question with some background:
I was recently talking with a friend of mine (Baptist, I believe. But could be non-denom) when the name of another friend came up (for simplicity’s sake, I’ll call this other friend Joan). Joan is a Muslim, and a good person. My friend (The Baptist/Non-denom) said that she was “…so mad that Joan [was] not a Christian”. I inquired as to why. She said, “Well, because she’s going to hell of course”.
I don’t personally believe this, and we debated on the issue for a bit before I had to leave. I found myself at a loss for arguments supporting my claim that not being Christian does not automatically condemn you. I was hoping one of y’all could help me out, or point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance,
Kraiger
We are all condemned because we have broken God’s law.

John 1
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

The Bible’s word are clear that there is no other way. If one acknowledges another way, then they make the Word of God a lie. And the Word of God cannot lie. There are just so many verses you would have to ignore.

John 3
18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 14:6
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Mat 10
32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

1 John 2:22-24
2 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
Acts 4
10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. 11 This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Rev 3:5
He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

And God does not excuse ignorance in these present times. That passed with the resurrection of Jesus.

Acts 17
29 Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising. 30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, 31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”
