Not too go off subject but I think our bodies have gotten too used to AC that it is hard for us to tolerate being anywhere with out it. That is why no one is outside in our neighborhoods anymore.
I should have asked: Are shorts acceptable in the case where I can’t wear long pants?I could be wrong but I didn’t read the OP that way. I took it that he was just asking if shorts are acceptable at Mass. I take that as a general question.
Usually, no. Sometimes, yes.Is there some compelling reason why you can’t do both?
It’s not a “for Mass” thing. It’s a social thing. My mother would dress like those ladies in the first picture… just to go shopping. And what the men were wearing, is what my father would wear every day to work. He was a salesman. This is how we used to dress for Mass:
I do, too. I don’t dress anything like those pictures! I just try to look “decent” at Mass, which for me is long pants always, but not jeans or sneakers. Just a thing with me. People really dressed to the nines in the old days, even grocery shopping. What a different world now.We dress more casually now and I for one welcome it
so where do I find patent snakeskin western boots (in wide sizes, at that!)?horts at Mass should always be accompanied with jacket, tie and patent leather shoes!![]()
