Are these documents available in English? Everything I have read on Kung says that he was disciplined specifically over papal infallibility. As for infallibility of the magisterium, I think it depends on what one calls the magisterium. I am pretty sure Kung accepts the infallibility of the universal church and of the bishops gathered in council. I am not sure what his take is on the so-called ordinary magisterium – pronouncements of the Church outside of councils. I suspect he finds this to be little different than another way of describing papal infallibility.I believe that he not only denied the doctrine of Papal Infallibility, he also denied the doctrine of the infallibility of the Magesterium, as a whole. At least according to this notification given by the CDF back in 1979. And he was smacked by that same CDF back in 1975 (see p 203 of AAS 67). I believe that is a pretty unique honor to be slapped twice by the CDF in the same decade, isn’t it?
What I have never seen is anything (other than postings here) to suggest that Kung disagrees with the Church over anything other than Church authority and issues about how to run the Church. He does not deny, for example, anything in the Creed. From what some post here, you would think he is an atheist.
