Of course not dolphinlove :).
:blessyou:

As I said, you can not blame them, they are doing exactly per Muhammed deeds, and if I agree with them, I wouldn’t have considered Christianity in the first place, which is really opened my eyes.
Welcome home, dear brother in Christ

Like everything else about Islam, Muslims refuse to see the fungus covering the decay.

This cannot and should not be allowed. The only thing is how do you condemn it without indicting Muhammed? You cannot. To call this man into question would be to call the Prophet in as well.

Think about this little tid-bit. In Islam, a Prophet cannot sin. That is right. Nothing that he does is a sin. Now, was marrying a 6 year old and comsummating it a sin? No, because Muhammed did it. The question must then be asked if it was not a sin only for him or if it is not a sin for anyone…

There is no force marriage in Islam. if both parties agree , then it’s not a sin for any Muslim man to have a young wife or any Muslim woman to have a young husband. There is no ban on age gap for men & women.

If any young wife is unhappy with her aged husband , she can end her married life anytime & later can remarry.

Remember , when God asked wives of the Prophet if they want wealth in exchange of ending the married life with Prophet , then it was Mother Aisha (p) who first replied : I want to be with him. Pl. stop worrying about a happy couple. Think how u can stop western school girls from becoming unmarried mothers , many of them are killing babies , try to save those innocent lives . Don’t waste time, energy condemning a legal blessed marriage .

On the last day , u will find it hard to justify your hatread against a lawful matter.

How true, and there lies the problem! Muhammad can do no wrong in the eyes of Muslims. Whatever he considered “halal” is okay with them even if it’s considered evil by the rest of the world.

So a 50 year old man can marry a 5 year old girl if her parents allow it? THat is DISGUSTING

I cannot stop anyone from doing anything: that is depriving them of thier free will. Islam has no understanding of that. All you want is enslavement of people by rule of force. And that is just for Muslims…

what do you expect Muslims to say? even if they know in their heart it is wrong, they just cannot speak it loudly without indirectly questioning Muhammad’s “revelations”…this example is but a fraction of what is going on in Muhammad’s nation.

One day when you have a daughter of your own, would you let a man ask your 7 year old daughter for her hand in marriage?

Okay, so she’s not old enough to make her own decisions you say - that says alot already. So would you entertain the man who seeks to marry your 7 year old daughter? I’m thinking you wouldn’t object to the man’s proposal, right? Okay, let’s say you do (reject his proposal on your daughter’s behalf), because it is your God-given right to do so. What if he cites the Qur’an and the Prophet’s love (and ‘respect’) for women and babes? What would you do then?

Are you going to tell your confused child that its okay - you can divorce him when he becomes frail and almost dying and you can remarry anyone once you reach the age of maturity? Seriously?

…, would you let a man ask your 7 year old daughter for her hand in marriage?
Sending marriage proposal is allowed for both men & women. Rejecting proposal is also allowed in Islam . If a proposal comes from a pious person , then parent must not object . yes , of course it depends on some other factors , too.

Now I don’t know any man whom people call Al Amin ( who always speak the truth ) since chilhood . I don’t know anyone who spends one third of night time in prayers , I don’t know any man who never committed any sin , never misbehaved with others , always guarded himself from all kind of sins , spent his whole youth taking care of an aged lady ( twice widowed with 3 kids ) , who married a poor woman with kids just because she was a God fearing lady , married an old lady who wanted to devoted her life in the path of God .

I really don’t know any man who is so trusted even by his enemies that they keep their precious items to him because they know he will return back their wealth etc etc.

If really any parent know a man of this kind of high morality , they must not say No to the proposal. But of course , they must not force daughter .

Don’t judge a marriage by today’s standard . Now even a college girl who has several boyfriends , may be already visited abortion clinics more than once is considered as toooo young for marriage.
In the past , it was very common for girls of almost all faiths to be married at eary age. Hindus believed all family members will go to hell if a girl reaches at her puberty at parents home. So , it was a must for all Hindu parents to arrange marriage for their daughters before their puberty.

There is no bar on young marriage in Judaism or Christianity.
In USA , only one hudred years ago , 10 years old girl could marry. Even now a days in USA , some Christian men are marrying both mom & daugther & u people are worried what took place thousands years ago.

I don’t know why people love to condemn Islam only if really this is a sin to have a young wife. In Islam it’s not a must for anyone to have a young wife. If girl is immatured , then parents must not give her in to marriage . Mother Aisha (ra ) was engaged already to another man , that marriage did not take place & later she became the mother of the believers. At her time , other girls of her age used to get married ----it was common .

Also , Prophet (p) waited long 3 years to take her home…why u think he did that ? She was his wife & he could easily started his life with her just after the marriage ceremony took place.
Are you going to tell your confused child that
forced marriage is not allowed in Islam ; if the girl is confused , mentally & physically not matured , then parent must not arrange her marriage .

Just remember, you’re having discussions with a former Brahmin. There is no such teaching in Hinduism. But since individual Hindu beliefs are as diverse as the universe, then perhaps that may be true for certain self-styled individuals, but it is certainly not Hindu dogma.
I don’t know why people love to condemn Islam only if really this is a sin to have a young wife. In Islam it’s not a must for anyone to have a young wife.** If girl is immatured , then parents must not give her in to marriage **.
The bold red sentence does speak for itself - you don’t think at 7 years old, the girl is immature? As for rightly knowing if a man’s intentions are dubious or not, which pious grown man would want to keep a child-bride?
forced marriage is not allowed in Islam ; if the girl is confused , mentally & physically not matured , then parent must not arrange her marriage .
So the parents of the 7 year old girl should not give away their daughter to a man who’s clearly a pedophile. If they truly love God, they would’nt.

Salaam/peace

if there is no such teaching in Hinduism , then why hindu parents did that in India sub continent ? It happened less than 1oo years ago. I read about it in several Hindu writers books like famous Indian writers SharatChandra Chattarjee , Bhivuti Bannargy ( not sure about spelling) .

.

yes , you are right . It’s a must duty for a Muslim parent to arrange thier daughter’s marriage with a God fearing person. Parent of Mother Aisha (p) did that , may God give them best rewards , Ameen.

I never read from such authors who make up their own interpretations of the Bhagavad Gita and Ramayan. When i was a Brahmin, i only read from the Vedas. Besides, if this was a norm, Indians all over the Sub-Continent would be subscribing to the authors interpretations. I travel to India very often - but have not done so in the past 3 years. I have been to rural India, mainly Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, etc and i have never encountered or heard of such stories as the ones you claim.

I have no problems if the man was not old enough to be her grandfather.

why not ask any Indian mainly from Calcutta , West Bengal how old was the grandma when she was married ?

The writes are Bengali ( Bangla ) speaking , they are very famous . I will InshaAllah see if their writing is available in Eng .
I have no problems …
do we have any right to interfer in a happy couple’s life ? If a married woman is happy with her husband , just because her husband is aged , we have no right to tell her , hey u know , you are unhappy .

In the west , if a 20 years old young girl marry’s a 80 years old man , it’s for love or it’s her own business ,right ?

This sicko is planning on marrying a 7 year old and claims she has ‘reached puberty’
Code:
* Cleric already married to girl, 12
* "Plans to wed others aged seven and nine"
* Defends act - says wife has reached puberty
INDONESIAN police are investigating a wealthy Muslim cleric who married a 12-year-old girl and is reportedly planning to wed others aged seven and nine, a spokesman said today.

Pujiono Cahyo Widiyanto, a 43-year-old businessman and cleric from the Central Java city of Semarang, has courted nationwide controversy over his decision to marry the girl, who comes from a poor family.

Mr Widiyanto has defended the marriage, which is his second, saying the girl had already reached puberty.

“We are investigating the case. We are now gathering witnesses and then we’ll look for evidence on what laws the man might have broken, and we’ll follow up from there,” national police spokesman Abubakar Nataprawira said.

Dear Dolph,

I am glad you bring this up. I have been following this news all the times. Do you know? some of the muslims interviewed claim that is pedophile. Those are typically educated muslims. Some others claim that is permissible since it it not forbidden in Quran, and even the Holy Prophet did that. That cleric is not a real cleric in term of real Islamic theologian/scholar. I would even believe that Planten is much better than him in term of Islamic theology. But, he is rather just a rich man economically, having went to Mecca Pilgrimage at countless times, and regarded by the neighbors as “cleric”. You know, it is always be “money matters”. When you are rich, always like to wear white dresses, having been in Mecca so many times, having giving alm publically (yes, you can invite reporters if necessary), the “poor” neighbors will consider you as “cleric” regardless of your knowledge of Islam. That “cleric” also declared the same thing, that his action is based on (a) the “child” has reach the puberty and has reach the menstruation stage, (b) the “child” will not be consummated until the age of 18 (as he promised), (c) his action is better than committing adultary against the “child”. I almost vomit my whole gut listening to his reasoning in point (c) above. It seems that he believe that his wealth can buy all opinions on earth.

I have been to Calcutta. No such thing there either. In fact, i remember back in 85, when i saw Mother Teresa for the first time.
The writes are Bengali ( Bangla ) speaking , they are very famous . I will InshaAllah see if their writing is available in Eng .
As i mentioned, individualistic interpretations are of no concern to mainstream Hinduism. Besides, West Bengal has a large minority population of Muslims. Perhaps you may have confused them with Hindus?

Just so you know, even Westerners get disgusted by people such as Anna Nicole Smith. So you are literally saying you will have no problems if your 7 year old daughter was to marry a man who could be her grandfather’s age?

Salaam/peace

In Islam , Forcefully a man can’t marry any girl or he just can’t buy any girl from a poor family. Imam needs to take consent of the bride. To my knowledge , if she is too young , then on behalf of her , parents must give consent .
Also , pl. remember A Muslim woman can end her married life if husband is abusive.

Islam does not say that it’s adultery to marry a divorced woman . so , a Muslim woman after passing her iddat time ( after divorce she needs to wait 3/ 4 months to see if she is pregnant or not ) , can marry another man & start a new life.
From the reporters’ interview with the child’s mother, the mother did agreed upon that marriage. They are from a poor family, and that “cleric” (yes, the title given to that rich man by public, usually given to a Muslim cleric), is really rich. He promised to appoint that 12 years old child-soon-to-be-wife, as the General Manager in one of his business. Wow, a 12 yrs old, just finished the elementary school, becoming a General Manager where all other managers report to her.

Perhaps she studied Accounting, Algebra at the age of 5, received her degree at the age of 9 and her Masters at the age of 11? Who knows? She may be a child-prodigy.

I think that you agree that the behavior of some people cannot directly be connected to their religion.

:rotfl: I am thinking of applying for a job there, and let see how I can learn something from my 12 yrs old General Manager. You know, you cannot stop learning until you die, correct? Who knows that several months from now, your company engage a business with them. And, hoopla… the signatory of your legal business contract will be yours and hers.

I would also think that it is an indirect insult to the Indonesian universities too. Not all university graduates able to get a job easily, lest directly made to the General Manager position after graduation.
