From the New York Times (with minimal format changes and bold by me) . . . .

.
Hillary Clinton Chose to Shield a Top Adviser Accused of Harassment in 2008
.
MAGGIE HABERMAN and AMY CHOZICK JAN. 26, 2018 New York Times
.
WASHINGTON – A senior adviser to Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign who was accused of repeatedly sexually harassing a young subordinate was kept on the campaign at Mrs. Clinton’s request, according to four people familiar with what took place.
.
Mrs. Clinton’s campaign manager at the time recommended that she fire the adviser, Burns Strider.
.
But Clinton did not. Instead, Strider was docked several weeks’ pay and ordered to undergo counseling, and the young woman was moved to a new job.
.
Mr. Strider, who was Clinton’s faith adviser, a co-founder of the American Values Network, and sent the candidate Scripture readings every morning for months during the campaign, was hired five years later to lead an independent group that supported Clinton’s 2016 candidacy, Correct the Record . . . .

Burns Strider’s harassment was overlooked by Hillary (and the story is just now coming to light).

This protection of Burns Strider possibly enabled him to strike again accumulating even MORE alleged victims.

"Correct the Record" only took several months to fire Burns Strider apparently for the same type of issues.

.
He was fired after several months for workplace issues, including allegations that he harassed a female aide, according to three people close to Correct the Record’s management.

I just went to CNN’s main web page.

The top FIVE stories all attack President Trump.

THIS story was not reported on the main page that I can see.

I’ll check MSNBC and get back here ASAP.

MSNBC had it!

It was TEN stories down, but I’ve gotta give credit where credit is due. MSNBC is actually covering it.

abcnews.go.com did NOT cover this story yet.

The “top” story is a rehashing of ex-sheriff Joe Arpaio’s views on immigration (“Dreamers”). No distinction was made between legal and illegal immigration (yet again)

Thirteen stories down ABC has a story about riots in France over a Nutella discount sale (presumably store riots but admittedly I did not waste my time reading this “news”).

I watched MSNBC the other evening and surprised to see they had conservative on there telling the opposing side… It was this week!!! Something changing??? I hope so…

I have mixed feeling on this.

If the guy was docked several weeks pay, the issue wasn’t ignored. The story gives no perspective on what “harassed” meant; sometimes it’s criminal and sometimes it’s just being annoying. Not every incident should result in someone getting fired. Also, it doesn’t need to be made public. It’s important that the woman wasn’t demoted or penalized for bringing this out. So without more details I can’t say it was handled incorrectly at that time. Today there would be much less leeway in responding.

I’m more bothered that he was her long term spiritual advisor.

Just checked USA Today.

They ALSO are ignoring the Hillary Clinton story about her keeping ON a sexual harasser on the campaign.

The top “news” story?

You guessed it.

A piece attacking Trump.

The piece uses a quote from the “nonpartisan” Center for Responsive Politics, Sheila Krumholz.

The article aims at President Trump because the dollars involved with Washington lobbyists are the highest they have been since 2010 (predictably, Obama who was President in 2010, was not even mentioned in the article).
“Lobbyists appear not to have gotten the memo about draining the swamp,” said Sheila Krumholz, the center’s executive director, referring to Trump’s often-repeated campaign pledge to clean up Washington and rein in lobbyists.

The 10th story on USA Today’s “news” page was an article congratulating Ellen DeGeneras (sp?) on her 60th birthday.

I looked beyond that and still found absolutely no mention of this new Hillary Clinton scandal by USA Today “news”.

I could find no mention of this Hillary Clinton scandal by CBS News either (so far on their main news page).

Story number nine though tells us “Host James Corden hopes to “just not ruin” the Grammys”.

To CBS’s credit, I found no hit pieces on President Trump either (at least among the first ten stories).

Fox News ALSO did not cover it (so far).

Their top piece?

A story of Andrew Cuomo suing the Federal Government over the tax overhaul (including the phrase the “Trump-signed tax overhaul”).

I only went about 15 stories into their site too

USA Today now covering the Hillary Clinton story.
A sexual harassment report was made to campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle. Doyle reportedly approached Clinton and asked that Strider be fired. Clinton declined to do so, and Strider remained on staff.
.
Strider, who was married at the time, instead was docked several weeks of pay and was ordered to undergo counseling, per the Times.
.
The young woman, who reportedly signed a nondisclosure agreement that prevents her from publicly speaking about the campaign’s inner workings, was moved to a new job. . . .

Thanks for a thoughtful post.
It is noteworthy that the young lady felt able to bring the complaint forward, and that actions of penalty and counseling were taken against the harasser, and that she continued.

According to the New York Times article originally cited . . . .
. . . Mr. Strider never attended the mandated counceling, according to two people with direct knowledge of the situation. . . .

FoxNews has also posted the story (as has ABC).

Hillary called the young woman who was victimized to remind her how “proud” she is of her.

According to Hillary, Hillary also reminded the victim that all of these sexual harassment victims “deserve to be heard”.

No word yet if Hillary is going to exempt this young woman in part or in total from the non-disclosure agreement she signed when she went to work for Hillary.

From the New York Times . . .
The woman who made the accusation against Mr. Strider in 2008 has not spoken publicly about it. She, like most campaign staffers, signed a nondisclosure agreement that barred employees from publicly discussing internal dynamics on the campaign . . .
.

From Hillary . . . .
I called her today to tell her how proud I am of her and to make sure she knows what all women should: we deserve to be heard.

From the Breitbart story above pointing out Hillary’s comments from just a few months ago after the negative Weinstein publicity came to light.

.
. . . Late last year Clinton tried to capitalize on the “women’s issue” of sexual harassment by denouncing Hollywood movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, despite her long history of being closely associated with him over the last twenty years.
.

Hillary then goes on to say how “shocked” she was . . .
“I was shocked and appalled by the revelations about Harvey Weinstein,” Clinton said in an October statement. “The behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated. . . .
.

Which reminded me of Captain Louis Renault’s famous lines in the movie, Casablanca . . . .
